- WGWanda GrimmettOct 18, 20255.0On October 14, 2025, I was in Hot Springs for a conference and was downtown, in a parking garage when my car would not start. After waiting two and a half hours for State Farm road service to arrive, and getting worried because it was getting late and the auto shop I had called would close soon,(I also had no desire to sleep in my car in a parking garage), i did some heavy praying and the words Auto Zone popped into my head. I called the Central Avenue store and Mr. John M. answered. To say he was an answer to my prayers would be an understatement. I explained my situation, and he said it sounded like the battery. He said he could come to where I was with the battery charger, and within 10 minutes, he was there and the car was going. I followed him to the store where he replaced my battery, and checked to make sure there were no other issues. While I was waiting for him, I spoke with Connie, whom I think is the store manager, and discovered this is not the first time they have gone above and beyond normal customer service standards to assist drivers in need. Auto Zone is fortunate to have such amazing individuals working for them. I am truly thankful for their assistance that day. FYI, the roadside recovery company being sent by State Farm called me that they were still an hour away when John arrived at my car. Tell me God doesn’t send angels in time of need. John and Connie are my angels!
