We accidentally ordered the wrong rotors for our car. They were purchased as a Christmas gift for my wife. When we opened the box, all of the rotors were clearly labeled rear. We had only ordered two, but four rear rotors were sent instead. They were also from a brand that this store does not carry in-store.
When we went to the AutoZone on Highway 31 in Hoover to resolve the issue, we were immediately questioned and asked to provide a receipt. Because this was a Christmas gift, it took about 10 minutes to locate and produce the receipt. Even after that, the staff initially questioned whether the rotors came from AutoZone—despite the box clearly having their store address and being shipped directly to our home.
Eventually, they did confirm that AutoZone sold the rotors and agreed to issue a refund, but the interaction leading up to that was very unprofessional. While on the phone with my mom, the cashier was rude to her, then looked at me and mocked the situation by saying she was being rude and making dismissive, mocking gestures. It was extremely disrespectful.
Afterward, once the correct parts were identified in the store, the same cashier told me, “It’s not going to be me that checks you out because I’m about to clock out,” and walked away.
Mistakes happen, and we understood that. But the lack of professionalism, poor attitude, and disrespectful behavior made this a very unpleasant experience.
