Phillip M helped me find the part I needed easily, and when they didn’t have the second in stock he gave me an alternative that worked!

⭐ One Star We accidentally ordered the wrong rotors for our car. They were purchased as a Christmas gift for my wife. When we opened the box, all of the rotors were clearly labeled rear. We had only ordered two, but four rear rotors were sent instead. They were also from a brand that this store does not carry in-store. When we went to the AutoZone on Highway 31 in Hoover to resolve the issue, we were immediately questioned and asked to provide a receipt. Because this was a Christmas gift, it took about 10 minutes to locate and produce the receipt. Even after that, the staff initially questioned whether the rotors came from AutoZone—despite the box clearly having their store address and being shipped directly to our home. Eventually, they did confirm that AutoZone sold the rotors and agreed to issue a refund, but the interaction leading up to that was very unprofessional. While on the phone with my mom, the cashier was rude to her, then looked at me and mocked the situation by saying she was being rude and making dismissive, mocking gestures. It was extremely disrespectful. Afterward, once the correct parts were identified in the store, the same cashier told me, “It’s not going to be me that checks you out because I’m about to clock out,” and walked away. Mistakes happen, and we understood that. But the lack of professionalism, poor attitude, and disrespectful behavior made this a very unpleasant experience.

Phillips McCohnell at the Hoover location went above & beyond to help me with my brake light yesterday. His positive attitude about fixing my light in the rain was unwavering. This employee is a gem!

I had a fender bender and went in to see if I could borrow a few tools instead of buying them. The guys there were so helpful to me. They let me borrow the tools and asked if I needed help with anything. I had to borrow a socket wrench and scissors. I told them I would bring them back ASAP. They told me to take my time and let them know if I needed any help. When I brought them back they asked if I got everything fixed and did I need anything else. I asked if I could clean up in their restroom. They showed me where it was and asked if I had everything in there I needed. Everyone was so kind and helpful to me. Thank you guys so much for the help!

I purchased a starter for my truck here a few days ago. Apparently auto zone charges an extra $40 as an incentive to bring back your old starter where they will refund that amount back to you. Turns out this is a little bit of a scam. Wasn’t told that I needed to bring back in the physical copy of my receipt. Maybe I am supposed to know this so that is on me if so. I assumed since my info is in their system that my purchase could be looked up and found for my refund. Conveniently that’s not how auto zone works. I was told that I needed receipt or they couldn’t help me. As I was leaving the same employee that had helped me find and purchase the starter a few days earlier says, “yeah, this isn’t a Walmart.” So I get scammed out of $40 and as a parting gift also receive a sarcastic comment as I am walking out the door. Autozone reached out after this comment and I really appreciated that! Changing my rating from a 1 star to a 4 star. I ended up throwing my old starter away so i can’t turn it in anyway at this point. When a business reaches out and tries to make things right, that is something i appreciate
