- LLLegitChargeFeb 27, 20261.0I walked in the store to discover that there were no employees at the front counter. I waited along with several other customers before several minutes before giving up and leaving. Its worth mentioning that I audibly heard employees in the back loudly laughing and using derogatory language.

The kind man up front stated one set of brakes was left that fit my car, & put them on hold while my husband and brother took the old brakes off in the parking lot. When they came back in an older white lady told them that the brakes had already been returned before and she “didn’t have time for this shit”. She kept on and on and was EXTREMELY rude. This woman was ill informed and got aggravated. She should absolutely not be cursing at customers and isn’t fit to be working a customer facing role at all. The nice gentleman we spoke to originally was busy when this occurred and finally came back and got us taken care of. I am extremely disappointed she was cursing at customers due to being confused on what was going on. This really needs to be addressed with her or escalated to corporate / the owner. I work in cust service / client relations myself and I couldn’t imagine ever behaving that way. This location is usually great, so this was completely out of the norm. This occurred 2/2/2026 around 3/4 pm. Thanks!

Does Advance Auto test and install batteries?
Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
