  I rented a car from them 2 months ago and I got my deposit back after 10 days. Now I rented again last month and is been over a month now and I haven't got my deposit back?

  Recently, I had an opportunity to experience two levels of customers service associated with renting a car from Alamo – one I consider the absolute worst while the other I consider the absolute best. In trying to keep it positive, I won’t bore you with the details of the nightmarish experience and will focus on the positive. When I returned the vehicle, the person who waited on me at the counter was Ina. When she asked me how my experience was I was honest with her and told her exactly what had happened. She explained the situation to me but, rather than using prototypical corporate speak, she did it in a manner that made me feel that she understood the situation and would probably feel the same if she was in my shoes. She did all this while being respectful to me and respectful of Alamo and its policies. She asked if there was anything she could to make it right and would I be interested in a rental for the period I was going to be remaining in Albania. I told her I had already rented a vehicle and, even after her explanation, that it would be doubtful that I would rent from an Alamo associated company in the future. Without taking offense or getting defense, she then took the time to explain why the policy was the way the policy was. Understanding how corporations work where the larger the company, the more “one size fits all” their customer service policies are, I could feel my anger for the company diminishing as I was standing there speaking with her. Long story short, not only did I walk away with a more positive attitude due to her, I canceled my other rental and came back and rented another vehicle from Ina, not Alamo. Does this mean I changed my mind at how ridiculous the policy that created the problem is, absolutely not. What this means is I enjoyed my discussion with Ina who once again made me feel valued as a customer while simultaneously showing her concern for her to the point where she said, “I love my customers, but I also love my job and my company.” When is the last time anyone heard an employee say that? In my experience, never. This is the point where I would normally say……… give her some recognition, give her a bonus, give her a raise - but the truth is, you need to put her in charge of your customer service function.
