- LDLogan DurhamDec 31, 20255.0Earlier tonight we were in desperate need of a new car battery. We barely made it to AutoZone before the car died completely. When I went inside to buy a battery and ask for help, I was told they couldn’t replace it because it’s located in the trunk well—so we were stranded in the parking lot. I walked over to Advance Auto Parts, and that’s where an absolute angel stepped in. One of their employees brought a jumper over to the AutoZone parking lot, got the car started, and then stayed with us for nearly an hour helping replace the battery. I tried to tip her, and she told me instead to just leave a good review—so here it is. If you ever need help, go to Advance Auto Parts. They went above and beyond, and I’ll never forget the kindness shown to us tonight.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.
What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.
How much does a car battery cost?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
