- SPSharon Whitt PressnellJan 16, 20261.0Manager sold me wrong rotor. I worked and worked on putting it on and finally figured out it was wrong size.. I was furious because I was so tired of wrestling with the wrong size rotor. He even saw my car and made me have to go through this hardship. When I went back to exchange it they charged me $20 more because of the managers mistake. I think I should’ve gotten it for half price!! This was the most miserable experience I have ever dealt with!! I will not go back to buy anything else from this store!!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
