I had a great experience with Ronni at Mavis Tire & Brake on Schillinger. She was very friendly, professional, and went out of her way to help fix our tire quickly. The service was smooth and stress-free, and her positive attitude really stood out. I truly appreciate the help and would definitely recommend this location!

Ronni was super sweet and so was the man in the office. I told them what I was looking to spend and they worked with me and that was super appreciated. They also didn’t pressure me to do anything else and spend more money, they gave me a list of suggestions after the evaluation and the pricing of it. Super professional and kind!

I have been using Mavis for a while. I bought my tires from there 1 1/2 ago at a different Mavis location but then I had my tire sensors, struts, shocks, brakes and rotor done a couple of months back at the Mavis in schillinger rd and what a difference, much better service. Ronni and her team have been amazing. They got me in, taking care of me in a timely manner. They worked well with my schedule. Everyone there has been friendly and considerate.
Today I need my tire balance and it was taking care of in an hour. I thank her for doing a great job. She is an asset to your company. I will continue to use this Mavis store.

I went in for a new tire because mine had a nail in it. I expected them to bring other issues to my attention like they usually do, but I didn’t expect the “issues” to amount to $2,600 total. Leanne advised me that I needed basically a whole new rear brake system (including calipers) and also new struts and shocks. When my jaw dropped at the price, she kept telling me “oh I can bring down the price!” which she was only able to bring it down maybe a few hundred. Why quote me that much if you know you can bring it down? I assume they wait for you to react to the quote and if you show hesitation that’s when they start throwing coupons at you. I found out later that they make commission on that stuff. Now it all makes sense.
I ended up going to Budget Brakes to get a second opinion. Paul, the manager, walked me to my van to show me that I DO NOT need calipers but I do need brake pads and rotors. He then said my struts and shocks did not stand out to him as a necessary replacement at the moment. He charged me $800 to fix FRONT AND REAR BRAKES (pads and rotors) and sent me on my way. I paid him right then and there and I was so grateful I had found a trustworthy car shop in Mobile. I’m a 36 year old woman and I know I’m prey to a lot of these car shops. They see me as naive and try to see what they can get out of me, which shows their true character.
After Paul had shown me what I TRULY needed, I was so upset that I called Mavis and spoke to Ronnie (the manager) and let her know that Leanne had tried to LIE just to get more money in her pocket. Ronnie also tried to lie to defend Leanne (she said the manufacturer suggests new calipers every 100k miles, which is also a LIE). Though she still seemed very apologetic over the phone and offered me a free oil change, which I was grateful for and scheduled it for that Friday. I ended up not being able to make it for the oil change and when I reached back out to Ronnie in hopes of rescheduling, she left me on read TWICE. So watch out for Leanne and Ronnie at this location. They’re going to try to tell you to replace your calipers to line their pockets. Both seemed SO nice to my face but both have also managed to show their true colors and I hope someone reads this review and it helps the next woman who walks into this shop by herself. Know their game before they try to play you.
