I helped my daughter purchase her first car today, the service was above fantastic, and our sales rep Jonas dealt directly with my daughter to give her real world experience with negotiating and how the process of buying a car works. Not one time did he roll his eyes, look annoyed or try to hurry us through the process. I really dislike car dealerships and the whole process. However, this is the 3rd car we have purchased here, and they are the most laid-back and helpful staff. Thank you, Jonas, for making the process easy and keeping a positive attitude. Somebody get Jonas an on-the-spot cash award he deserves it.
My husband and I both said buying our Honda from this dealership was the best car buying experience we have ever had. Kristina was the best and we never felt pressured to buy anything.
In fact, they went above and beyond when they didn’t have the color vehicle I wanted. They searched and found it at another dealership and by the next morning we were notified it had already arrived to the dealership. We were quite impressed!
We would definitely recommend checking out Honda for your next purchase!

I waited to post this review until my post-purchase issues were fully resolved.
My family is Toyota through and through, so test driving a Honda was a total fluke—but that test drive with Lazlo last summer narrowed my search to Honda Passports specifically. When I got a search alert for one late one evening, I figured it would be gone, but Lazlo got me connected to Benny immediately. I initially passed on it due to 1-2 hangups, but Benny worked with his leaders quickly to address them, and I was back the next day to take the vehicle to my mechanic for a look over. Throughout the process, Benny stayed calm and reassuring even though I was anxious (my default state—sorry, Benny).
A few things about the overall purchasing experience:
1. The 90+ minute wait between paperwork and finance was exhausting. I had to push back plans with friends, and when I finally told Benny I needed to leave and come back the next day, the finance team was suddenly ready for me. Whether it was coincidence or not, it felt like a psychological pressure tactic and that didn’t sit well with me.
2. $895 Worry Free Care Package is frustrating, particularly because you can’t opt out. While it does include some services the Honda CPO doesn’t cover, the 6 month/6,000 mile powertrain coverage feels redundant given that the Honda CPO warranty already provides powertrain coverage for 7 years/100,000 miles. Paying for overlap you didn’t choose isn’t a great feeling.
3. A better send-off experience would be a customer service game-changer. This could be helping the customer set up the Honda app, providing clarity on what to expect in the mail (warranty cards from Honda) vs. what you’re walking out with vs. what gets emailed (Honda CPO documentation), and scheduling your first maintenance appointment. I know dealerships can be busy, but that extra customer service sparkle could go miles — especially for solo buyers or first-timers who don’t know what questions to ask.
Post purchase, I started to spiral a bit when I got home and started comparing vehicle shopping experience notes with friends. That spiral resulted in a pretty terse email to Ken (GM) regarding a finance issue…not very mindful or demure of me 😅.
Post-purchase resolution: Seven weeks after my December 30th purchase, my issue sat unresolved despite multiple follow-up emails to the finance team. When I escalated to Ken, he acknowledged receipt quickly and communicated the resolution and next steps. Ken’s accountability, transparency, and quick action turned around how I view Shottenkirk Honda post-purchase. As of February 24th, the issue has been fully resolved.
Overall: Benny is a 8/10, Shottenkirk is a 7/10 (bumped up thanks to Ken’s expedient problem-solving and transparent communication). Despite some backend communication gaps, Benny made this experience as good as it could be, and Ken showed what good customer service looks like when issues arise. I never want to buy another vehicle again (riding this Passport until the wheels fall off), but if I ever had to? I’d 100% work with Benny & Shottenkirk Honda again.

Outstanding experience with Laszlo Gyorok at Shottenkirk Honda!
I came in to test drive a Honda Passport, and from start to finish, this was exactly what a car shopping experience should be—awesome, personable, and extremely low pressure, which I really appreciated as a first time car buyer.
Laszlo took time out of his afternoon to show me the vehicle and patiently answer all my questions without any pushy sales tactics. The whole process felt relaxed and if you’re looking for a no-pressure car buying experience with someone who genuinely wants to help you find the right vehicle, I highly recommend working with Laszlo at Shottenkirk Honda. Great customer service!

The entire staff was nice and helpful. Our very pleasant salesman, Sean approached us to assist, we found 2 vehicles that we were interested in, he allowed us to take our time in making our decision. I will be honest, making a vehicle purchase is one of my least favorite things to do due to the unnecessary circus that is usually involved, but this experience was better than others I have been through. They prepared the car while we completed paperwork, they explaned the offers and allowed us to make our decisions, the process was smooth and we was on our way.

Buyer beware! The sales team offers good customer service, but when it comes to pricing and financing, that is a different story. This dealership will put a price online, but the price is only good if you use their financial institutions. If you attempt to use your own financing or even pay cash, the price goes up THOUSANDS of dollars! They also try to force you to purchase a warranty even if the vehicle still has factory warranty left. Very shady business! Buyer beware and read all fine print before stopping at this location.
