I went to Shottenkirk Honda Huntsville looking for a used Toyota Highlander that I saw on their website. It had already sold. My salesman, Robert Santiago, went above and beyond to find that perfect vehicle that fit within my budget. He was personable and genuinely cared that I had the best experience purchasing a vehicle. We left with a 2021 Honda Passport that we love. Thank you Robert!

I am grateful for how well they took care of me while the car was being repaired. Doug, the shuttle driver, dropped me off at work and patiently waited to pick me up from work to retrieve my car. Very grateful that they have this service so I can keep doing things throughout the day while the car is getting worked on!

This buying experience was our best car buying experience thus far, thanks to the ease of working with both Chris Gardner and Jeff Raines. They were both so knowledgeable, understanding, and took excellent care of us. We wish more dealership experiences would be like our experience with Chris and Jeff!

My husband and I went to Shottenkirk Honda in Huntsville on Saturday to purchase a vehicle. We were trading in our 2015 Acura RDX. We have purchased 7 cars from Damson Automotive, the precursor to Shottenkirk. We informed them what we knew about a trade in – that it had a substantial oil leak. We told them we would not drive it because we didn’t want to do more damage or get stranded but would have it towed there. Before we did that, however, we wanted to negotiate the price of the car we were purchasing. We did that and worked with the general sales manager, Kevin McCarthy. The deal wasn’t great but was OK so we made arrangements to have our Acura brought to the dealership – at our expense. Before we left, he gave us a form with his $3,500 offer for our trade in, an offer than came AFTER we showed him a written offer from another dealership for $3,800. Once the wrecker arrived, the car was brought to service and we proceeded with the paperwork for the new vehicle. Kevin McCarthy then came in and told us there was an oil leak but it was because the car needed an new engine head. We told him what we knew – the car was leaking oil but weren’t mechanics and can’t speak to what was wrong with the car. It was, after all, a 10-year old car with 175,000 miles on it. He became very rude and told us “he knew what we were doing,” and why we didn’t bring the car with us initially. He told us “this wasn’t his first rodeo,” and we were being deceptive and he wouldn’t give us more than $1,000. He added we weren’t truthful. We were absolutely shocked. Every time we tried to speak he interrupted us and became increasingly more rude. After listening to this for about 5 minutes, I told him I had listened to him now he could listen to me. I began to speak and he interrupted me again and I quickly informed him he was speaking to me this way because I was female. He rolled his eyes and said “I have 5 daughters” whatever that has to do with it. People were staring at him and almost immediately, other staffers came over to apologize. We got up to leave and then I requested to speak to Kevin’s boss – not with the intention of purchasing a car but just to let him know what had happened. Ken Boustani the general manager came over and immediately apologized. We caught him up on the situation, he went and spoke to the tow truck driver (who was as equally shocked as we were by Kevin McCarthy’s behavior) and told him to leave our car. He came back in, offered $2,000, we countered with $2,500 and the deal was done. We made the deal contingent upon an apology from Kevin, however. He came over to me and I told him he could wait until my husband was back at the desk because we were both owed an apology. Again, he rolled his eyes. He came back and apologized and we informed him he was rude and unprofessional. Not surprisingly, he interrupted us. I then told him he could go back to his job and he wasn’t needed anymore. He then replied – remember he is the general sales manager – that he didn’t work for us. Yes, you read that correctly. This experience was awful. The unprofessionalism and dishonesty (very bait and switch once we arrived with the car) of this person was beyond anything I’ve seen in any business operation. If I operated this business, he would have been dismissed on the spot. After we were done, more employees came up to us and apologized. Other shoppers came up and asked us what happened and were equally shocked. If this person is employed at Shottenkirk in Huntsville, I would STRONGLY recommend you purchase elsewhere.

This place is horrible we took my car in for repair. My husband hit a coyote the other night but it was just a small bump little crack on front of car bumper are was all the damage that could be seen we weren’t even going to fix it because it was not even noticeable. But the car started acting funny the next morning like computer was messed up so we took it to dealership think it was a quick fix reboot computer and reset and that’s it they we took it in on Monday at first it was supposed to to be done on Tuesday and the said two parts where broken the coolant something and something else in the radiator part which from outside was nowhere close to where the coyote hit no damage but they claimed it was they never showed us broken anything so we had to take there word then thrn on tue when they where supposed to call they didn’t I had to call to get eta only to be told that it had more broken parts and it would be Fri before would be done because of holidays and more expensive again no proof that all these repairs where need they didn’t call on Fri when they where supposed to again I had to call then we get there and they try to charge more then what they had already had quoted us then I get in car it’s dirty the used up all my gas I had more the half tank when drop off it was empty so I drove a block away to gas station turn off car filled up and when I went to turn on my car was died they killed my battery so I call the dealer only to be told there closed thankfully my husband was able to get someone thru another phone number and they sent a sells person to give me a jump and wanted us to leave car there and they would get to it Mon but when I drove back to dealership no one there so drove home car died as soon as get home had to go get jumper cables so another expensive battery won’t hold charge and so now my husband called the dealership and they are sending us a new battery and a tech to install they also lost my clip that held my seatbelt from rubbing across my neck this place is totally not reliable so now my out almost 6000 dollars. They didn’t even fix the crack in the bumper part of it was still not even popped on all the way I will never recommend this place as a matter of fact I will be tell everyone to not use
