  Reserved a large SUV. They ended up only having a small SUV available for the day off my reservation, despite having made it well in advance. Did not make for the best trip

  I almost never leave reviews for anything, with the exception of a positive review for a really good meal or receiving exceptional customer service, or a great experience. I cannot remember leaving a negative review for anything. My expectations are generally low, so I have found bad service to be the norm, and I am pleasantly surprised otherwise. So, if I have a negative experience I usually chalk it up to lessons learned and don’t revisit that establishment. I don’t like putting out negative energy because it normally does not help and usually has the opposite effect. However, when I experience a blatantly egregious lack of common decency at a business I intend to give money, I cannot in good conscience pretend it did not happen. Much the same as if I did not warn someone I meet on a path that I just saw a snake laying on it a few yards back. I can honestly say I had the worst car rental experience of my life this morning(Saturday) at the Enterprise Renta Car at 3328 Old Columbiana Rd Hoover,AL. I booked a 15 passenger van approximately 3 months ago for pickup this morning(Saturday). I needed the large van because my whole family is taking a trip and we leave tomorrow morning. So, I called them Tuesday morning and asked if they could confirm they would have a 12 or 15 passenger van available on Saturday. They said they could not guarantee that, which was alarming since I booked 3 months ago, and said to call back on Thursday to be sure they would have one available. So, I called back Thursday and they assured me they would definitely have one and it would not be a problem. So, I arrived this morning, Saturday, to pick up the van only to be told they did not have one and they do not guarantee rentals. They made no offer of assistance finding one elsewhere and offered no compensation for their mistake. They basically said tough luck not our problem. Luckily I was able to scramble and rent a van last minute for twice the price from another local business. Do yourself a favor and do not use that location or trust anything the employees there tell you. They demonstrated a complete disregard for my time and well being in this interaction.

  If you come on Sunday morning to return a car please be prepared to wait for quite a while, there is no key drop and it was chaotic. I had a issue with the car and was trying to report it , but I didn't have an hour to wait on dropping it off and waiting in line to get to the counter. People being frustrated waiting just started putting keys on the counter and walking out as did i. I tried calling back over 15 times later thinking the crowd was down and I could report the issue , but they never answered. I even called customer service to report the issue with the car , but I was told they would check the car out before renting it and I didn't need to report it , I highly doubt they corrected the issue , but at this point I was like I tried. Working in management myself , a key drop box with a tag to report any mechanical issues with the car would make a lot of sense if you can't afford to staff efficiently , a simple fix for people returning cars.
