The only reason I’m putting 2 stars is because the frond desk people I spoke with were relatively polite. However, do NOT take your car here. Not only did the mechanic call me 2 hours after dropping my truck off to ask me HOW TO OPEN MY HOOD, they told me multiple things that were completely incorrect. After taking it to Vulcan Tire and Automotive in Hoover (highly recommend), they determined that the folks at Mavis likely didn’t even take the tires off to check my brakes and instead tried to sell me on a part I didn’t even need. They also told me I needed a new “heater core” which was COMPLETELY false. Not only that, they were checking the complete wrong side of my car, I needed them to check the driver’s side bumper and wheel and they proceeded to tell me after I corrected them that I told them to check “the right side” which was not true. And they would have known it was the driver’s side if they checked because the issue there was visible. They ended up quoting me almost $3000 for repairs that I didn’t need. I paid HALF that at Vulcan to fix the problems that actually needed fixing. Will not be returning to Mavis.

I brought in a car with a damaged tire and walked out genuinely impressed. This team operates with the kind of customer focus and operational discipline you want from an auto service shop.
Speed-to-service: Check-in was quick, the ETA was clear, and they beat it. No idle time, no runaround—just clean throughput.
People & service mindset: Everyone I interacted with was friendly without being pushy. They listened, confirmed the concern, and stayed solution-oriented. The vibe was helpful and professional from counter to bay.
Technical execution:
• Accurate diagnosis on the tire issue (no guessing).
• Proper repair protocol (clean, patch/plug as indicated, bead reseat).
• Torque specs respected on reinstall—no “impact-gun roulette.”
• TPMS handled correctly and verified.
• Tread and sidewall inspected; they proactively flagged remaining life and wear pattern without trying to upsell me on unnecessary work.
Transparency & pricing: Clear estimate up front, no hidden add-ons, and the final ticket matched the quote. Simple, honest, done.
Quality assurance: Quick post-repair road-worthiness check and a concise handoff explaining what was done, what to watch, and recommended follow-ups. That’s the kind of closeout that builds trust.
Customer experience: Clean waiting area, steady communication while the car was in the bay, and a friendly checkout. They respected my time and treated me like a returning customer—even though it was a straightforward tire job.
Bottom line: High-velocity service, zero friction, excellent people. This shop earns a full 5/5 for speed, friendliness, and getting the job right the first time. I’ll be back.
