My car broke down right in their parking lot, and even though they didn’t have the part I needed in stock, Neal went out of his way to help me. He didn’t just send me on my way—he told me exactly where I could find the part at another location, which saved me a lot of time and stress. Later that evening, I came back to install the part, and Neal kindly provided me with a few tools I didn’t have with me. That small gesture made the job so much easier and showed how much he truly cares about customers. The entire staff was friendly, supportive, and went above and beyond to help during what could have been a really frustrating situation. I’m so grateful for Neal and his team. This level of service is rare, and I would highly recommend this Advance Auto Parts location to anyone who needs automotive parts or just great customer service.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
