- TTTwZtDHiPPiEDec 14, 20253.0Does not have a diagnostic tool, does not install batteries, and didn't seem to be very knowledgeable. They actually recommended that I go to another parts store. Stated they haven't had a diagnostic tool in 12 yrs because someone took it with them when they left. I'm sorry, what? Why didn't u just store charge a cheap one? Sometimes it's necessary to have this option for a customer who knows basically what's wrong but needed to pinpointed it to get the proper part, etc... Giving 3 stars because the man was so very nice and helpful despite not having the proper tools or ability to help me. This was 100% a store issue, not customer service! This is on the manager store/district/regional for not making sure they have the proper equipment or offer proper services.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
