I pulled in today for new battery, Deshaun had the battery checked (it was bad), taken out, and replaced in probably less than 10 minutes. We will continue to do business with them.

After struggling with the installation, they finally realized they had sold me the wrong wipers. I had to go back inside, exchange them, and wait again while they figured out how to get the correct ones on. Now, three months later, one of the wipers flies off while I’m driving on the interstate in the middle of a downpour. It left me unable to see and scratched my windshield in the process. To top it off, I’m now having to call the Birmingham store (where I live) and have them contact the Athens store to try and get a replacement. Meanwhile, I’m stuck with a damaged windshield, and of course, there’s nothing they can do about that. The whole situation has been a frustrating mess that could’ve been completely avoided.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
