We rented a car during our holiday in Albania. The car was in bad condition and was poorly maintained - for that money I understand why but at least we arrived to our destination with it. When it’s time to have the deposit of 200€ back I have to contact booking and my bank since we don’t receive any normal correspondence from the contact center. It’s not normal to have to ask 500 times about a simple deposit and get nonsense back as response! Also don’t make an insurance with booking.com because that’s money on the air. You will have to pay insurance on the spot also.

Longest rental queue at the airport. With that said, kind staff and high quality cars.

Do not book with this car rental service. our car got a small scratch that could easily be buffed out and they charged me €330 for a repair.. the damage was barely €50. They scammed me for money. They took 2 months to send my deposit back, and the staff were rude

I did not get exactly the model of car that I chose on Booking but the model I got instead was considered an upgrade. The car was clean and the customer service was helpful and nice. It was easy to get the car and give it back after a week, even early in the morning.

Albania was our 27th country that we were driving with rental car. We have used Alamo and Enterprise several times, and most recently in Ireland, London and Scotland in June 2026 with amazing service. Albania we hired for 8 days and have never in our life exoerinced such bad service. 1)Car condition good 2)The previous and other customers who were ladies were all given free upgraded car. When we asked he charged is 115euros for the upgrade and 68for a days extension. When we went to collect the car we were clearly told by the person there, that we shouldn't have been charged. He was very sympathetic towards us and apologetic. He clearly knew that the gentleman at the counter had given bad service. He Infact assured us that Albanian people are nice, indirectly reinforcing the lack of service standards at the counter. We couldn't even get an hours extension to return the car or even extend our stay by a day with additional payment. The call center girl checked with that same guy and he was clearly vindictive. Do take note of this as it leaves a very bad impression when you become the 1st point of contact in your country for a tourist. His 11 years of service and 110 cars rented for that day are no justification stories, for his vindictive service standards, just because he had some megre power in his mind.
