Intoxalock is awful I've had lockouts for no reason three times now and have to pay $75 to Intoxalock and $30 to Auto Trim EVERY time. I have had this for 3 months and it's been hundreds. I don't even know how many at this point. I was just there this morning. I had a calibration last Monday too. This device literally looks like a box from the '80s and it comes with a monitor cable attached to it. It was $600 to install it and it's going to be $200 to take it out. I'm actually helping a friend look into starting an ignition interlock device company in this town so it doesn't happen to anybody else.

Do not get the Intoxalock system. The worst customer service. They find every thing to lock out your vehicle and charge you for it. I have had it for 7 months with 2 lock outs and I never drove. i just find out it’s locked out when it’s time to get calibrated lol don’t get it

Great folks. I probably wasn't the easiest customer as 72 hours after install, I scheduled an appointment to have a "vehicle switch". Friendly unassuming crew at H&H Services. Encountered a " Run wire" message just after picking up our vehicle. Turned around and although busy wrapping up other projects before the holiday, they immediately got the vehicle back in the shop and resolved the issue. Thank you H&H. As for IID providers in Alaska, do your homework before selecting a AK. certified provider. You have several options. Pick the one that best fits your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle.
