I have a new Honda civic 2022. the device was installed and never let me turn off my car. It’s not good with push to start vehicles….
Here is an update to my review although my vehicle was damaged and the device the company provided was unreliable. The customer service agent did a great job of catering to the fault and paying me back for the installation fee.
Here is another update. This is by far the biggest scam artest company there is. My damage claim was denied for compensation after they admitted to giving the service center, who installed their device, the wrong diagram of my vehicle. I can’t believe I have to deal with this. I already have to pay fines for my DUI. Now I gotta pay for the damage caused by this companies lack of awareness ($1000) more. Please do not use this company as a vendor they are horrible.
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event.
