- SHSara HayesApr 17, 20261.0I had an oil change done and left feeling pretty frustrated. I was told my engine air filter had been installed “the wrong way” by a previous shop, and that it couldn’t simply be corrected. Instead, I was told it had to be replaced or it could cause warning lights and potentially expensive issues. After seeing the old filter, it didn’t look heavily dirty or damaged, and from what I understand, air filters can usually just be reinstalled correctly unless there’s a real issue. The explanation about not being able to fix it without risk didn’t make much sense. Overall, it felt like I was pushed into paying for a replacement that may not have been necessary. I’d recommend asking to see your parts and getting a clear explanation before agreeing to any extras. Went in for a simple oil change never requested to habe anything checked on my vehicle. Very frustrating left paying almost 180$
