dissatisfaction with a recent rental experience and to dispute a damage claim associated with my rental.
At pickup, the check-out process felt rushed and incomplete. A thorough inspection was not conducted, and no pre-existing issues were clearly documented or communicated to me.
This lack of proper documentation became a significant issue upon return. I was informed that the front bumper was damaged; however, I did not cause any damage to the vehicle during my rental period. I did not experience any incident that would explain this claim, and there were no obvious signs of damage while the vehicle was in my possession. To be clear, there was not a single scratch on the vehicle at the time I returned it.
At the time of return, I was presented with two options: to proceed through my personal insurance or to pay for the damage out of pocket. As I was not given sufficient time or a fair opportunity to properly review or dispute the claim, I felt compelled to choose the out-of-pocket option despite not accepting responsibility for the damage.
Given the absence of a detailed inspection report, I have reason to believe that this issue may have existed prior to my rental.
This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unfairly treated. As a customer, I expect transparency, accurate documentation of vehicle condition at both pickup and return, and a claims process that allows for questions and disputes without pressure.
I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed in full, including any inspection records, photographs, and documentation of the vehicle’s condition before and after my rental. Until such a review is completed, I formally dispute any charges related to this damage claim.
Additionally, I strongly encourage your company to improve its inspection procedures and ensure vehicles are thoroughly documented prior to rental to prevent similar situations for other customers.
I look forward to your prompt response and a fair resolution.
Sincerely,
Tesfay
