It seems that every time I go to the Fountain Tire Store on 158th St. and 111th Ave., Edmonton, it’s almost closing time, and I’m stressed out because of an emergency caused by a tire problem. Yet, even though I don’t know the team there personally, they treat me like I’m an old friend returning for a visit. They jump to attention and I’m soon driving away with a smile on my face!
Many thanks to the amazing team there, especially Corban, big Jeff, and the friendly lady behind the counter!

Brought them a set of winters on rims to have the tpms replaced, then install the wheels. They never called when finished. They also tried telling me the tpms were fine so they didn't replace them, without calling me. Less than 50 kms later the tpms have failed is I told them they would. Now told ill need to wait 2 more weeks for them to replace the tpms, after I already waited 2 weeks to have them done in the first place. This place is a joke. Go somewhere else.

I would recommend choosing a different location for your tire service. I had my vehicle booked in at this location, and at first all was well, the staff are very friendly. Then I get a call asking where my lug nut key is… I remembered the dealership telling me it was in the glovebox. I let them know, they look, and call back to tell me it wasn’t there. That’s fine, I leave with my vehicle and drive the 40 minutes home- when I get home I look for the key and there it is- right in the glovebox. That’s an honest mistake, but I wasn’t impressed with how they handled the situation. When I brought this to them, they told me 3 people looked for my key and couldn’t find it… which made me feel like they thought I was lying. I feel like they thought I was lying even further because when called back, they took 0 accountability for the situation. I understand they are very booked this time of year, but they only offered me their next available opening- despite me waiting days for my initial appointment and then having my time wasted by attending my appointment and having to wait an hour to get my vehicle back. I was expecting a little better customer service, especially since the staff were so kind. There are plenty of locations, just choose another one.

I had an amazing experience at this location. They took me in right away and got my alignment done quickly. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. The shop is well-maintained, and the service was excellent.

Thank you for amazing job!
Tires wear out over time, and how long they last depends on things like road conditions, driving habits, inflation, and temperature. The best way to know when to replace them is to check them regularly.
Common ways to measure tread include the following.
- Tread wear bars: When these are flush with the tread, it’s time to replace.
- Coin test: If too much of the coin shows, your tread is low.
- Tread depth gauge: The most accurate way to measure.
If your tread is low or you see cracks, bulges, or notice vibration, come see us.
What are some signs my vehicle is out of alignment?
It doesn’t take much to throw your alignment off—potholes, curbs, or just everyday driving. Poor alignment can lead to faster tire wear and poor handling.
Common signs include:
- Vehicle pulls to one side
- Crooked steering wheel
- Uneven tire wear
- Loose or unstable steering
- Vibration in the steering wheel
If something feels off, we’re happy to take a look.
What’s included in the seasonal car care package?
Our seasonal car care package gets your vehicle ready for the weather ahead. It includes:
- Fresh engine oil and filter
- Chassis lubrication (as needed)
- Charging and starting system check
- Brake inspection
- Fluid top-ups
- Belt and hose inspection
- Battery test
- Tire and pressure check
- Heating/cooling system check
- Lights, wipers, and overall safety check
It’s a great way to make sure your vehicle is ready for the season.
What do the numbers on my tires mean?
The numbers on your tire’s sidewall tell you the size, load rating, and speed rating.
Example: 225/55R17 97H
- 225 – Tire width (mm)
- 55 – Height as a % of width
- R – Radial construction
- 17 – Wheel diameter (inches)
- 97 – Load rating (how much weight it can carry)
- H – Speed rating (maximum safe speed)
These numbers help us match you with the right tire.
When should I put my winter tires on?
A good rule of thumb: when you can see your breath — about 7°C and below. At that temperature, all-season tires start to harden, while winter tires stay flexible and grippy. Booking early helps you beat the rush.
