Very good company and the easiest to understand. I was made aware of all options available for everything and like every business during the holiday there is a chance of uncertainty which the business and customers go through. Being considerate about the people employed as they aim to give their best to everyone., Great job SIXT employees and wish you positivity this new year !

DO NOT TRUST. We went on Christmas Eve to book a car for December 29. The person at the desk told us availability would not be a problem for that day . We specifically requested an SUV and emphasised that winter tires were essential for our trip. He explained that although they did not have winter tires that day, they were expecting cars with winter tires to arrive over the weekend, so we should have one by Monday. We were quoted a total price of $300 with full protection, regardless of the tires. We returned on December 29 at 8:30 a.m. to pick up the car. The same person then told us that there were no cars with winter tires available, and not even a 4-wheel-drive vehicle (which we had said would be our second option). Understandably, we were very disappointed and asked when one might become available, but he said he didn’t know. At that point, he accused us of being rude (which we were not and feel free to see listen from your cameras) and when I asked what car we would get he said that since we were already unhappy, he would not rent us a car at all. I explained that this was last minute, that it would ruin our holiday plans, and that we urgently needed a vehicle. He still refused. When I asked to speak with a manager, he said that he himself was the manager. While I understand that winter tires were not 100% guaranteed, basic customer service means taking responsibility for what is communicated to clients—especially when expectations are set in advance. As a result, we went to Enterprise a few minutes later. They helped us immediately and provided an SUV with winter tires and full protection(even health insurance )for the same price: $300. The stress and disappointment caused by SIXT were completely unnecessary and unacceptable. This experience was disgusting, and I strongly suggest reviewing both management and customer service policies, I am glad we did not rent from you after all. I personally believe that they did not have winter tyres at all and he was just lying to make us make the reservation .

I am a Platinum member and have been renting with Sixt for several years I am writing this complaint against Sixt regarding a rental experience that involved (1) a major vehicle downgrade at pickup with no refund or on-site assistance, and (2) a vehicle breakdown the next day near Lake Louise where Sixt refused to provide a replacement vehicle, leaving me stranded in dangerous winter conditions ( -10 degrees Celsius ) while customer service repeatedly hung up on me. I reserved and paid for a luxury-end vehicle (Audi Q3 ) at Sixt’s Calgary Downtown location. When I arrived, the front desk informed me that the requested vehicle was not available and the only option they could offer was a Mazda compact SUV, which is a significant downgrade from what I paid for. Despite the downgrade, the location stated they could not issue any refund or price adjustment and there was no one on site who could assist. I was told to call customer service to discuss it. Because I urgently needed transportation and had no practical alternative, I had no choice but to accept the Mazda and leave. The next day, after driving to the Lake Louise area, the vehicle broke down in a parking lot and would not start. I was stuck for several hours with no reliable transportation. I contacted Sixt for help and requested a replacement vehicle. Sixt refused to provide a replacement vehicle or a workable solution. I was left stranded in approximately -10°F weather, with limited nearby services, stores closing, and no immediate lodging available. This created a serious safety risk that the reps repeatedly brushed off. During my attempts to get help, customer service was unhelpful and hung up on me multiple times, which is unacceptable—especially during a breakdown situation in extreme weather. All in all, Sixt failed to provide the vehicle class I reserved and paid for and offered no immediate refund/adjustment, failed to support a breakdown situation with a replacement vehicle or adequate assistance, and Customer service repeatedly disconnecting calls during an emergency-like situation is unprofessional and unsafe. Sixt lacks the very basis of customer service and ability to respond in emergency situations. So if you need to rent a car to get to places where there’s limited cellular service / dangerous weather conditions, I strongly recommend you go with a different rental company. Update: the car battery is dead again on 2nd day and Sixt as always is utterly useless in providing help to their customer when they clearly are not honoring our contract of providing a functioning car at the beginning. They can not offer me a replacement car and ask me to reach out the branch myself the next day when they are open and figure a solution myself. Wow! Contracting to what the Sixt’s response here it appears that the irresponsibility and lack of any customer service is Sixt’s core value.

Car was in great condition, super easy pick up and drop off and no unexpected problems. The location can be a little hard to find (especially drop off), but they provided instructions which helped a lot.

I genuinely didn’t think a car rental experience could feel like a plot twist in the best way — but Sixt at Calgary International Airport proved me wrong. Our flight was delayed, we arrived after closing, and instead of the usual “sorry, nothing we can do,” Brenna and Darryl stayed hours beyond their shift to make sure we weren’t stranded. No attitude, no rushed energy — just warmth, calm, and “we’ve got you.” They welcomed us like friends, upgraded our car, and treated our first trip to Canada like it mattered. People joke about Canadian politeness, but this was something beyond that — it felt like being taken care of by genuinely good humans at the exact moment you needed it most. If you’re renting from Sixt at Calgary Int’l, I hope you get Brenna & Darryl. They didn’t just hand us keys — they rescued the start of our trip to Banff.
