  We recently had our bumper repaired at Boyd Autobody & Glass in Royal Oak and were very impressed with the level of service. Communication was excellent throughout the process, and the quality of the repair and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. We were also pleasantly surprised to find our vehicle cleaned upon pickup. A special thank you to the associate who thoughtfully turned on the heated driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, and heat before we arrived. This was such a considerate touch. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend Boyd Autobody & Glass.

  UPDATE - Since posting my review, I have had a very positive and productive conversation with Richard, the GM of this location. He reached out to me and made a genuine effort to understand my concerns and shared the corrective actions being planned to help improve this experience going forward. I was also offered a formal apology and some opportunity to come back in for a better experience, as a nod to the unfortunate gaps in my last visit. I appreciate the phone call and the honest conversation - because of this, I would absolutely consider returning to give this shop another chance if and when I need these services again in the future. It seems there is some recognition of the customer service and communication challenges here and that is always the desired outcome when sharing negative feedback. Absolutely terrible communication and customer service. The website says they will respond to online estimate requests same day or next business day - took 2 weeks and several follow ups to get a response. I opted to book anyway because the pricing was very good and they were the only ones who did not have concerns with matching my Toyota specific color and gloss. I responded to my long awaited estimate email, only to have to wait another 24 hours plus just for the estimator to say 'call the number at the bottom'. Great customer service, so really, the rest of the experience is on me, they showed their standard and I overlooked it because of the pricing. What I was told would be a one day job turned into me not having a vehicle for 3 days, not because of any delays, just purely because of their process. What I was told is meant by 'one day job' is it's one day's effort, it's not an implication it will be a one day turn around. Based on the reviews that's maybe something they could communicate better. My repair was out of pocket, I was not using insurance, which I believe made my job a low priority as there was less money to be made. Even when I had my vehicle delivered, I was casually informed that there was a portion of the process 'we normally bill insurance for' but because he knew I was unhappy, he 'went ahead and ate that cost' as if they were doing me a favor. This additional few hundred dollars was not listed in my estimate/quote and was never mentioned during the process. Tossing it out like a favor to me was a wild take. In fairness, he did also offer me a fill detail service at no cost later as an apology, but with the experience I just had, I cannot afford to be out a vehicle for another few days and hardly have interest in dealing with them again. The repair itself was fine, it was pretty basic so that's the bare minimum I would expect - though after reading some reviews, I should go take a closer look. Be aware they also do not offer any shuttle services. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience means I would never go back to this location and would absolutely never recommend them. Reading all these reviews in the same theme, that span years, it's pretty clear they are not bothered by this, which also speaks volumes. Don't be like me and ignore the majority of this feedback - find another body shop and spare yourself the added stress.

  Excellent service from start to finish! After work on my truck was complete they did a really nice job cleaning the interior and even delivered my truck to my home while I was out of town. 5/5 all day long

  The worst Body shop . **Negative Review for Boyd Auto Body Shop** I had a very disappointing experience at Boyd Auto Body Shop after my 2023 Nissan Rogue sustained hail damage. My insurance company referred me to them, expecting a straightforward paintless dent removal. Instead, they insisted that they needed to repaint the affected areas. After waiting two months, I finally got my car back, but the paint job was simply unacceptable. There were noticeable swirl marks, pinholes on the painted surface, and additional scratches that weren't there before. Frustrated, I reached out to my insurance company to voice my concerns, and they advised me to return the car to the shop. I brought my car back, and the staff assured me they would fix the issues. However, after another month of waiting, I received my vehicle again, only to discover that the problems had worsened. The new paint job had even more pinholes, and none of the scratches were addressed. Overall, my experience with Boyd Auto Body Shop has been incredibly disappointing. The lack of quality in their work and the prolonged turnaround time make it hard for me to recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for repairs.
