The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) is more than just a registry office. We've recently moved from 4700 17 Ave SW, Calgary, AB, to our new centre location at 7-1200 37 Street SW, Calgary, AB. From Alberta road tests and small business registry services to member benefits like 24/7 roadside assistance, a Cash Back gift card program, and exclusive Automatic Vehicle Registration Auto Renew where we'll renew your vehicle registration automatically for you, we’ve spent over 90 years serving the province’s motorists and supporting our members in the community – for every chapter of their lives. Over 980,000 Albertans trust AMA for automotive and personal registry assistance and expertise.
Many customers praised individual staff members for their helpfulness and professionalism, particularly Eduardo and Leah, while others reported negative experiences with unprofessional behavior from certain employees.

BUYER BEWARE. I’ve had car and home insurance through AMA for years but when I finally needed them after my home was damaged and unlivable, the AMA adjuster was awol. No communication. Whenever I called, I’d get a third party claims company that didn’t have access to my policy. They said they couldn’t do anything to help with accommodations.
I rarely say this about any company but AMA has no integrity and a complete lack of care for their policy holders. They just want our money.

Nicest location I have been to. Service was fast/efficient and staff were friendly. I also enjoyed a complimentary hot chocolate from their coffee bar.

Literally the worst driving experience I have had. This was months ago during the summer and the staff was lovely but the driving instructor was SO weird and rude. Shell of a man. Didnt talk or acknowledge my existence at all. Made it so uncomfortable. Please tell your drivers that they can speak to their clients? And you know make them feel welcomed? What’s with the power tripping weirdos? Anyways I went to the Southland centre and passed first try. Way better. They actually talked to me and made an effort to care about how I was feeling. DO NOT COME HERE. You drivers gotta humble yourself.

Had multiple bad experiences with this location. I pay $180 a year for a premium membership. I went to the Westbrook location to get a new drivers license as I had lost mine. On my first visit, once I arrived, I was informed the license software was down and there was nothing to be done so I should just leave. I was also informed AHS card is not valid secondary ID. It most certainly is.
On my second attempt, I was served by Prabin, who insisted I was not a member and he could not help me. I have been in office before and am 100 % in the data base. I had to call the main number and get them to email me my digital card. I then went back for THIRD attempt, where the other lady helping me informed me my birth certificate was invalid because of a tiny tear, as if Alberta birth certs being made out of tissue paper is my problem. She very unhelpfully told me I needed to get a new birth certificate, which I wasn’t able to do, without my new licence, which they seemed determined not to issue me.
I left very annoyed and went to another location, where I was in and out seamelssly in less than 20 minutes, zero issues. Highly recommend skipping the Westbrook mall location.
