  After fully paying for the car online a couple weeks before picking up the car I was shocked when the worker at the desk tried to make me pay the full amount again. The worker at the desk was very argumentative and impolite. After going back and forth with the worker who was very rude to me for about 5 minutes he finally decided to read my hire agreement which did in fact state that I had already paid in full. He was in no way apologetic but seemed annoyed that he had not managed to get me to pay again for the service. I was very concerned by the way in which the worker spoke to me and had no interest in wanting to help but just wanted to argue with me.

  Really the best car rental experience I have ever had. A total of around 3 minutes to do the counter formalities. No nagging to buy extra insurance or unnecessary add ons. Very nice car at a good price. Hassle-free return. They even charged me less than expected since the last day was only a few of hours and the hourly rate was lower than daily. Gas station conveniently located right at the airport entrance. Highly recommended.

  We made it to the rental location just before it closed. Not one person there made us feel like we were putting them out because it was soooo close to their closing time and going home. We had to extend our stay for another 10 days which they made the extension seamless. Upon return of the car, the young lady was awesome! She was sincere in her welcome back and questions about our trip. She was also extremely helpful directing us to our gate for checking and customs. Thank you to all you at Alamo for making our rental experience great!

  Alamo Rental Car at Calgary International Airport is truly one of the best in Canada. My wife Zaida and our family have visited Calgary, Banff, and Jasper on several occasions, and we always choose Alamo through Costco Travel for our rentals. The staff at this branch are consistently friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient — offering outstanding customer service every single time. A big thank you to the manager and the entire team for their exceptional care and professionalism. You always make our trips smoother and more enjoyable. They absolutely deserve five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  Sharing my personal experience renting a car from Alamo at Calgary International Airport. My Wife and I planned a week-long trip to Banff and Jasper. After shopping around rental car providers we decided on Alamo because of it's good reviews and competitive rates. Booking process: This was simple enough through their website. Got a good deal on a Premium Elite SUV, decided to spend the extra since we'd be driving the Icefields Parkway. Damage waiver with deductible was included automatically with our booking. This is where it got confusing. I wanted to upgrade the damage waiver to a zero deductible but there was no option for this on the website. After doing some research and numerous international phone calls I still couldn't get an answer as to how much this would cost. Anyway, I decided to just take my chances at the counter. Pick-Up Process: Finding the counter is easy, not far from baggage claim. I lined up at Alamo but the gentleman at the National counter was the one who checked me in. I asked about the zero deductible and he said it was 8.00cad per day more to upgrade the dw. I availed of this as well as the roadside assistance. He then directed me to the lot. The person at the lot guided me to a Mercedes GLA, I explained that this was too small and it was also a class lower than what I booked. He then pulls out the "or similar" line and insisted that the GLA was big enough for my 4 bags. I didn't agree to this and he hesitantly brought out a BMW X3, this was the class I booked and paid for. Similar would be an Audi Q5 or Mercedes GLC. Vehicle: It wasn't properly cleaned, glass was full of watermarks and streaks which I cleaned myself later. Interior wasn't wiped down either. The car was a 2024 and had about 40,000 kms. it ran well and we didn't have any issues with this. Drop-Off Process: Smooth and quick, receipt sent via email. All in all a good experience, I'd rent with them again. They should have an option for zero deductible on reservation. I didn't like that I had to insist on getting the class of car I paid for. Felt like the guy at the lot was scamming me. Also the car should've been properly cleaned.
