  I am very disappointed with my recent experience at Cinemark in Barboursville, West, Virginia Myself along with other moviegoers, complained to employees because the volume inside the theater was painfully loud. The sound was so intense that it became impossible to enjoy the movie. I was told by an employee that the audio was set automatically, but that he was able to turn it down and assured me he would. Unfortunately, the volume was never lowered. Excessive noise levels are not just uncomfortable—they can be harmful. Prolonged exposure to loud sound can damage the delicate hair cells inside the inner ear, leading to noise-induced hearing loss NIHL. This type of hearing damage is permanent and can also cause tinnitus, a condition characterized by persistent ringing, buzzing, or other noises in the ears. Sounds at very high volumes can begin causing damage in a surprisingly short amount of time. The volume was so overwhelming that I had to wad up tissues and place them in my ears just to make it through the movie. No customer should have to do that in order to watch a film. I used to visit this theater regularly and always enjoyed my experiences there. However, after this visit and the failure to address a legitimate concern after promising to do so, I have decided I will not be returning. In the future, I will gladly make the drive to Huntington to watch movies instead. I sincerely hope management takes customer complaints about theater volume seriously and ensures the sound levels are safe and enjoyable for everyone.

  Went to see Disclosure Day tonight July 7th 2026. The music in the movie was turned up so loud it was annoying. Everyone was complaining about it. When we went up front to complain the employee's said there was nothing they could do it was preset. Had to literally put tissue in our ears to enjoy it.

  Watched a movie this weekend and the theatre didn’t have any air conditioning. Mid-way through the movie a few guests left and we considered the same. 80+ degrees was excessive and should’ve been warned prior to buying tickets and concessions.

  Nice, but hate the seating . Used to just buy a ticket and go in and just find a seat. No you pick a seat when you buy ticket.
