A historical house museum located in the home of Robert Frost and his family from 1920 to 1940. Robert Frost's years in Shaftsbury, VT marked his rise as one of America's great poets; here he won the first of his four Pulitzer Prizes and wrote his iconic poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening." The Frost Stone House Museum was gifted to Bennington College in 2017, and reopened to the public in May 2018. In addition to continuing as an historic house and museum, the College will integrate the Stone House Museum into educational programming and experiential learning opportunities for students in literature, museum work, historic preservation, and environmental studies.
