  8/30/26- We visited the Chart House for a birthday dinner. The rotating floors and the 360 views were amazing. The staff were super nice and didn't rush us. My family enjoyed the food, drinks and desserts. Besides the restaurant there were other things to see and do. I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting.

  We made a reservation a few days ahead. Waited about 10 minutes for the elevator. The cocktails were tasty and a beautiful pairing with the views. I suggest going around 6pm to be sure to catch the sunset. I had salmon and husbae has lamb chops, delicious! For dessert we had the crème brûlée flight. I didnt care for the orange and strawberry flavors but it was srill nice to try. Parking was $20 and another $12 each to visit the observatory on the next floor up. Great experience and perfect date night!

  Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant… the food was terrible and the service was slow. Our reservation was for 7:30 and they seated us at 8. The idea of the restaurant is cool and the view is nice but everything else was horrible. Oversalted steak and under seasoned lobster risotto. The lobster tasted old and was rubbery and hard to swallow. The bruschetta was terrible and not even bruschetta. Tiny shards of bread with flavorless tomatoes that tasted like they had been frozen. The prices were outrageous at least for the quality and freshness. We thought the night couldn’t get worse and then they lost our credit card. And it took an hour for them to find it… and then another 30 minutes to figure things out. Horrible and terrible management. The restaurant was also extremely hot about 84 degrees inside with no air movement. It was loud and smelled weird, the staff seemed unhappy. Never again! I can promise you that. This is the worst food San Antonio has to offer. Worth a visit for the view maybe, if the elevator doesn’t break while you are in it. Only one elevator works and it takes a long time to get up or down, since it is constantly full and in use. The dinner area spins on old machinery that clunks and sputters while you are trying to eat. Reservations were for 7:30 and they didn’t let us leave (due to their own negligence) until 10:30. We sat for an hour and a half waiting for them to find the card that was lost. Also good luck washing your hands.

  Visited this place for the first time with my family of four. Overall, the once-in-a-lifetime experience was good. I would come again just for the observation deck and the 4D movies, which we really enjoyed—but I would skip the restaurant. The food was too expensive and honestly wasn’t worth the cost. The menu options were very limited, and there were no pictures. My question is: why have a two-page drink menu? That’s overkill. It’s enough that the whole place gives you motion sickness, so why offer so many drinks? Personally, I liked the chicken menu item, but I wouldn’t pay $35 for it—even though it was the tastiest of all. As a suggestion, please indicate which menu items are spicy. My daughter had the mango rice with fish, and she barely finished it. The salmon dish was good, but the vegetables were overly salty, cold, and had a raw texture—not great at all. The salmon itself was juicy, but it really didn’t need extra butter on top since it’s already fatty. We also had the garlic bread with clam appetizer, which was okay. I just wish the bread had been fresh instead of dried out, as if we were eating croutons. Anyway, $200 out the door felt like too much for what we got. Something as simple as a burger and fries for $15–$20, ready in less than 15 minutes, would have been much more desirable. By the way, it took 1.5 hours to prepare our food—who has that much time to wait?

  Thank you, CHAMA GAUCHA, for picking up the ball Mia at Tower of the Americas dropped. Last year, I scheduled a tour more than a month in advance for my 30th birthday celebration. We arrived before our noon appointment, checked in with multiple employees, and waited. At 12:20, after receiving no updates, we were finally told Mia wouldn’t be available until around 1:00. We left. I didn’t receive any follow-up until I reached out myself days later. Things happen, but the lack of communication and professionalism made my decision to celebrate elsewhere very easy. And thankfully, I did. Chama Gaucha gave me the experience I had hoped for from the beginning. The communication, service, and attention to detail were phenomenal, and my 30th birthday celebration was everything I wanted it to be. So, one year later: thank you, Tower of the Americas, for dropping the ball and THANK YOU, CHAMA GAUCHA, for picking it up. 🥂
