  Accidentally went to the wrong Cinemark, talked with the lady collecting tickets and bought tickets for a different location. The lady suggested I go ahead and buy tickets for this location and she would help me get the refund taken care of. I unfortunately didn’t see her again but I called the Cinemark I originally purchased the tickets for and checked that they were refunded. Thank you so much for your help! Spider-Man was great, very clean theater and everyone was friendly.

  A spectacularly avoidable failure from start to finish. For years, I had been looking forward to seeing COYOTE vs. ACME. As a scrappy Gen-Xer who grew up with these characters, this was not a casual “maybe we’ll catch it someday” movie outing. I was genuinely excited. I bought tickets more than 24 hours in advance and thoughtfully chose our seats. Then Cinemark Central Plano managed to make sure we never even saw the movie. We had never visited this location before. At check-in, I showed the QR code in my Google Wallet, where Cinemark dumped the ticket. The employee abruptly told me he could only scan tickets if I had the Cinemark app. Apparently, paying in advance and presenting Cinemark’s own ticket QR code is not enough unless you also download their app. When I said I did not have it, I was told to pull up the email instead. So much for a smooth digital ticketing experience. We entered the auditorium and found that one of our assigned seats was broken. We went back out to report it. The same employee came into the auditorium, inspected the seats, and casually said, “Yeah, those seats have been broken for months.” For months. Yet Cinemark was still selling those seats to customers who purchased tickets in advance and selected them specifically. His solution? Go stand in line at concessions to fix a problem the theater had known about for months. The concession area was sticky, messy, and covered in popcorn. There was no line, but also no employee at the counter. Eventually, a staff member who was getting an ICEE for himself noticed us and offered to move our seats. There were no seats together. At that point, a refund was the only reasonable option. So we left. No movie. No replacement seats. No attempt to make things right beyond refunding tickets Cinemark should never have sold in the first place. Just a ruined evening and a long-awaited movie experience that never happened because this theater knowingly sells broken seats and expects customers to solve the resulting problem themselves. And please do not respond with the canned instruction to contact Cinemark through its website or call 1-800-CINEMARK “so you can look into this further.” This review has already been submitted through the contact form. Requiring customers to repeatedly document the same failure in multiple places is not customer service. It is another inconvenience piled onto an already miserable experience. Cinemark Central Plano: repair the seats, stop selling broken ones, train employees to accept the tickets your company issues, and clean the concession counter. None of this should have been difficult.

  Bought reserved seats yesterday for a 3:50pm showing today. Arrived early, went in, found our seats. Realized one of the seats was fully reclined, and wouldn't go back up. A block of three seats were without power. When we complained, the usher said, "Oh, those have been like that for months. " We were told to go to concessions to change our seats. Nobody in line, but we waited for help and were then offered to change seats and shown a map of the theater. Full, with only about six seats available scattered around the theater. The only two together were on the front row on the far right. No apologies were made, so we just asked for a refund. Very disappointed. We won't be back to this theater! Update: The way to "Make it right" is to train your employees to deal with problems like this using words like "Sorry", and complementary tickets for next time you're here. We never once got an apology for the problem, and it's a problem that's apparently been unresolved for weeks. In fact, we weren't even offered a refund, only the opportunity to select other seats that either weren't together or that were on the right edge of the first row. Either fix the seats or take them off the seat selector so they're not sold.
