  you would think a place of this caliber would execute a level of class but the staff absolutely do not. i hope in the future they are able to communicate to their patrons with the hospitality we all deserve. i will not attempt to come back here and suggest others to not as well. the manager was extremely rude and distasteful. we reserved a table for a pre dinner cocktail and they rudely rejected us.

  I had planned to stop in for drinks, but before I was even allowed into the bar, I was told I needed to “cover up” and was handed a shawl. I was shocked and embarrassed. In all my years of dining and drinking at upscale establishments, many of which are far more exclusive than The Post Oak Hotel, I have never once been told my attire was inappropriate. When I asked for an explanation, the bartender told me they had “problems with escorts.” I found that comment deeply offensive and felt it implied that women dressed in a certain way are judged or stereotyped before they’ve even walked through the door. As a tax attorney and professional, I found the experience humiliating and discriminatory. If there is a dress code, it should be clearly posted and enforced consistently for all guests. Instead, I was singled out, embarrassed, and left with the impression that women are judged based on their appearance rather than treated with respect. I won’t be returning, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone who expects to be treated with dignity. Picture for reference of my “inappropriate” outfit.

  One of the worst hospitality experiences I have ever had. The woman at the entrance of H Bar, who claimed to be the manager, was arrogant and shockingly unprofessional. My friends and I were refused entry because of our outfits, yet she could not provide a clear explanation beyond repeatedly telling us to “reference the website.” When I asked what was wrong with my outfit, she looked me up and down, gestured toward my midsection, and called me “honey” in a blatantly disrespectful and patronizing tone. Her behavior was not simply rude. It was completely unacceptable for someone representing a so called luxury establishment. A dress code can be enforced without belittling guests or speaking to them as though they are beneath you. We left after that interaction, only for the situation to become even more disturbing when a valet employee attempted to take my friend’s phone because they were taking pictures. No employee has the right to grab a guest’s personal property. The Post Oak Hotel markets itself as high end, but there was absolutely nothing luxurious about the way we were treated. The staff made us feel targeted from the moment we arrived. Management should seriously evaluate how employees are trained to communicate with guests, because this experience was an embarrassment to the hotel. I would never return to H Bar and would strongly advise others to take their business somewhere that understands the difference between enforcing a policy and degrading a customer.

  I am extremely disappointed with my experience at H Bar. As someone who also works in the service industry, I fully understand and respect the importance of policies, dress codes, and maintaining standards. However, the way this situation was handled fell far short of the level of hospitality I would expect. I arrived wearing a tasteful white dress and gold sandals and was denied entry for allegedly not meeting their “business casual” dress code. When I asked for clarification, the staff simply told me to look at the dress code on the website, despite them standing right in front of me and being fully capable of explaining what specifically was considered inappropriate about my outfit. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, I was told my attire was not appropriate because there could be children in the hotel. This explanation made little sense given that it was around 11:00 PM on a Sunday night, and my outfit was a simple white dress with gold sandals—not revealing, offensive, or disruptive in any way. The entire interaction left me feeling judged and looked down upon rather than treated like a valued guest. Luxury hospitality is not just about having standards; it’s about treating people with respect and professionalism when enforcing those standards. As someone in the service industry, I know that difficult conversations can be handled with courtesy and clear communication, which unfortunately was not the case here. I left feeling embarrassed, confused, and unwelcome. Based on this experience, I would not recommend H Bar to anyone expecting the level of service and hospitality associated with a luxury hotel.
