  I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you are considering 2616 Event Center, especially for a wedding or an event that is important to you. Unfortunately, our experience with this venue and, specifically, Lisa, was extremely disappointing. The biggest issue was the complete lack of follow-through on promises that were made to us throughout the planning process. We were repeatedly told by Lisa that someone would be on-site for the entirety of our event. That did not happen. When we arrived, we actually had to call and text to figure out whether anyone from the venue was even there. It was not Lisa, as we had been told, but someone we had never met and had never been given contact information for. Our event started at 7:00 PM, and at that point there were still no trash cans and our gobo had not been set up, despite being explicitly promised that both would be completed by 6:00 PM. To make matters worse, we were given the wrong size specifications for the gobo by Lisa/the venue. Because we were given incorrect information, the gobo we paid for could not even be used. We essentially wasted money on a decoration specifically because we were provided with the wrong measurements. For a wedding, where every detail and expense is carefully planned, that was incredibly frustrating. The issue with the sound system was another major problem. Lisa repeatedly told us that we did not need a DJ because we could simply Bluetooth our music to the venue's speaker system. This was completely false. There was one speaker, which we ultimately had to set up ourselves on the rooftop. It looked terrible and was nowhere near what we had been led to believe would be provided. The communication and organization were equally frustrating. We had to initiate almost every single interaction with Lisa and the venue. We had to repeatedly follow up about our layout, repeatedly remind them about details we had already discussed, and even remind them that we hadn't been charged for the venue. After all of that, we arrived to find that the tables were still in the wrong locations. At this point, it felt less like we had hired a venue to help execute our event and more like we had hired ourselves to manage the venue. For a wedding reception, the venue should be one of the things you can trust to simply do what you were promised it would do. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with 2616 Event Center or Lisa. The lack of communication, preparation, organization, and follow-through created unnecessary stress on a day that should have been completely focused on celebrating. I would not recommend 2616 Event Center, and I would be especially cautious about booking an event with Lisa. If you are considering this venue, I would strongly encourage you to get absolutely everything in writing and verify every detail yourself. Based on our experience, verbal promises from Lisa were unfortunately not something we could rely on.

  LOVED THIS EVENT VENUE!! This is a really cool place to have your weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, graduations, high school reunions, proms.. There are 3 different bar areas, should you choose to utilize them. It's got 4 floors, a dance floor, a penthouse suite, a bridal suite for your girlies and you to get pretty in. It's got a balcony with a little stage that overlooks Deep Ellum, off of Commerce. It's an old school brick building with an unfinished, rustic look. There's also a pretty nice view of the Dallas skyline. There's plenty of free parking for your entire party, which their staff can help guide and control. The manager, Lisa was great. And Teresa and James were super helpful. You rent the space; the room or floor, or the entire venue! You're in charge of setting up your party, but they're there to help with the tables, chairs, table cloths, and fancy details. Call Lisa today to schedule a walk through to decide whether or not it's right for your next event. Did I mention they've got incredible?
