Condom Sense was founded in 1990 in Dallas, during a time when conversations about sex, safety, and health were clouded by fear and stigma. Following Magic Johnson’s public HIV-positive announcement, awareness of the AIDS epidemic surged — but education and access were still limited.
In response, Condom Sense opened its doors as Dallas’s first safe sex store,
