Built over the foundations of the original Lyric (1903; 1,261 seats) and Apollo (1920; 1,194 seats) Theatres, today’s Lyric Theatre combines architectural preservation with state-of-the-art construction and technology. The spirit and character of New York’s grandest historic theatres have been maintained and united with the technical amenities of a modern facility.
The Lyric Theatre underwent a complete redesign and transformation for the North American premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which opened on April 22, 2018.
Update: they had some extenuating circumstances that caused the early close. They were able to accommodate me over the phone. Shout out to great customer service.
Original post: Box office was closed even though I went during the published hours. 👎👎

Brought my family to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The outside of the theater was themed very well for the production and the inside was beautiful. And there were HP decorations and atmosphere everywhere. The staff were all nice and cordial and ever so helpful. The seats were comfortable. We actually sat on the front row of the balcony and it was a great view. Concessions were a little high, but that's to be expected at these shows.

An absolutely magical experience at the Lyric Theatre! Watched Harry Potter and the Cursed Child — a must-see Broadway show. The entire theatre is transformed into the wizarding world with hidden surprises around every corner. The stage magic and special effects are mind blowing — you will keep wondering "how did they do that?" Nearly 3 hours of pure entertainment with a great intermission break. Comfortable seating and excellent sightlines. Staff was friendly and well organized. Worth every penny. A must-do for Harry Potter fans and Broadway lovers alike!

I cannot believe this theater would sell tickets in the balcony section. We paid a significant amount for seats 13 and 15 in row D of the balcony. Two rows back from the railing. Not only did The railing obstruct our view, but the row of people in front of us spent the entire night up and forward in their seats to see over the railing, making it impossible to watch the production. I spent the entire evening bobbing back-and-forth over and under the child sitting in front of me, his adult accompaniment, to the right of him and the adult to the left of him. It ruined the evening, wasted a ton of money and was a complete disappointment. Especially knowing Tom Felton was starring in this production as Draco Malfoy. Very unsetting!

We had a magical experience seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child! The building is gorgeous and the theatre creates a truly immersive experience.
That said, the prices for the drinks and snacks were outrageous! I know this is NYC, but $14.00 for a small cup of popcorn!? And we had a hard time seeing past the people sitting in front of us, so much so that we actually had to move so we could even see the stage.
