  A highlight of our wedding planning process was the special time we spent with Simone while she helped us choreograph our first dance. From our very first lesson, we enjoyed every moment with her. Simone met us exactly where we were and made us truly feel like dancers. She is extremely reliable, flexible, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure our dance felt perfect—even accommodating late-night lessons when needed. Her patience, encouragement, energy, and expertise made the entire experience both fun and meaningful. We will always cherish our time with Simone and look forward to continuing classes with her for years to come!!

  Simone Assboeck is a 5 star dance teacher. I've been dancing for years and taking lessons. Simone's private lessons are tailored to each student or couple. She creates "a plan" which unfolds as one progresses. As a good teacher, she quickly identifies what to correct or improve and clearly articulates and demonstrates how to move correctly. It's a terrific way to learn and expand one's dancing and self-confidence. She's also loads of fun and imbues each lesson with her espirit de joie. I love her lessons.

  I have taken dance lessons in multiple styles with Simone for over 10 years. She took me from an absolute beginner to a solid, confident dancer. She is highly skilled at breaking down steps and patterns so that you can pick them up more easily, and she has an intuitive sense of matching the level of challenge to your current level of ability. More recently, I have started taking her lunchtime dance workout classes, and they are an excellent way to get some movement in during the work day, boosting your mood and energy level when you might be hitting a lull. Highly recommend learning dance and/or taking a dance workout class with Dance Together NYC! Edited to add: A year later, after doing the lunchtime dance workout consistently, I have noticeable definition in my upper arms from doing only a few minutes of exercises with light weights (1-2 lbs) during each class. I don't go to the gym and these results are from just from the consistency of being in this class.

  We began taking virtual dance lessons with Simone as a way to stay active safely during the pandemic. It has now been over 3 years and, though we could now take in-person lessons locally, we would miss Simone too much! She is knowledgeable, patient, and so engaging. She has a wonderful sense of humor and makes each lesson so enjoyable and fun. Each week we look forward to seeing Simone—she is a terrific dance instructor who feels like an old friend.

  This is a long overdue review but I would highly recommend Simone for dance lessons. My husband and I wanted a few lessons so we didn't embarrass ourselves at our wedding but we didn't want a fully choreographed dance. Simone totally understood our vision and with only a few weeks before our wedding, was able to teach us a great dance. Our song was slow and unique but as soon as we played it Simone quickly knew what to do. Our first dance at our wedding was perfect and we would recommend her to any couples needing some wedding pointers. We hope to go back for more lessons soon! Thanks Simone!
