I bought a ticket to a show off the waitlist yesterday and was told I would be assigned a seat when I got there. In theory that was fine, but in reality the seat they assigned me was right up against the side of the stage next to the steps (I think it was B59A). They actually had to move a barrier they had set up at the bottom of the steps so I could even get to the seat. With the chair wedged in between the table and the steps, I was squished in (I am not a small person) and unable to move my seat to a position where I could see the stage…it was extremely uncomfortable! Luckily the other seats at the table were open and I was able to move over to a different seat once the show started. I cannot understand why they would have sat me in the most inconvenient and uncomfortable seat possible when all the other seats at the table were open. Very disappointing!

My place to listen to my favorite singer songwriter. There literally is no bad seat in the place and the staff knows how to bring a drink or food while the room is fixated on a great artist. The better than pub food is moderately priced and just right. You won't regret nor forget your evening here.

I spent almost $200.00 (not including food and drink) on Saturday night to see Lyle Lovett and watch the 4th of July fireworks afterwards, as advertised and printed by City Winery. However their promise of a clear view of the fireworks was a complete lie. The only visible fireworks were the ones that went really high, and even they were partially blocked. When I saw the actual fireworks replayed on TV I was furious. I would never have spent that much money just to go to the show. They were completely misleading in their advertising and ripped everyone off. Shame on City Winery!

Very disappointing experience at City Winery! Multiple drinks listed on the menu were unavailable, our appetizers arrived with no utensils, napkins, or straws, and we waited so long for silverware that our food was getting cold. When I finally asked the hostess for utensils, I was initially given plastic utensils despite empty tables nearby having regular silverware available. We also requested a manager, but no one ever came to speak with us. While complimentary dessert was offered, it didn’t make up for the poor service and lack of attention throughout the visit. The experience left us feeling overlooked and unwelcome, and unfortunately we won’t be returning back!

Nice enough spot. There is an MG parking lot right next door which might serve you should you not want to take the 4+ minute walk to the spot. The Winery in a terriffic location near the park at the Hudson. No river views inside--just an FYI. I've been to the Winery before, but in Nashville. The NYC location was laid out quite well, and the balcony seating was actually well done. I had front stage seating--which is exactly what it sounds like. The stage seating is the most intimate. This is a no-frills type of experience. The Winery is affordable entertainment. The seats are priced right. The food is Chill's quality but set at Steakhouse prices. A 25.00 plate of truffle fries" where the "truffle" is parmesan cheese and rosemary. Not sure what oil was used as it wasn't listed. And screaming out questions to the waitress was tiring. The service is usually sub-par, by default. They cram as many people as they can at these tables, and then the waitstaff has to squeeze through the noise and chaos to serve you. They must have the patience of Job. Bringing a positive attitude will take you a long way--when it comes to service. It's almost laughable. Dress code, even for stylish New Yorkers, is "do you." Some dressed to impress, other did not. Mixed crowd. Positive vibes. No complaints really. Just don't go in expecting high end. It is not. It's a bit of a ruckus and it all seems on purpose.
