I mean cmon
What happened to CW - it used to be the premier place but now? It’s terrible
Venue itself is beautiful but the logistics are terrible
Half the menu was unavailable and no mocktails for the non drinker in the group
The food was terrible and the wine-
Let’s just say overpriced swill
Warm white wine? Come on
66.00 blanc that was warm and tasted like metal
33.00 for a cold burger that came out 5 minutes after ordering and fries that were so overly flavored with truffle oil they were soaked
The server was sassy and fun but asked we order direct from her- which resulted in a double priced growler of what I ordered
The noise and music and talking from the kitchen was so obnoxious we couldn’t hear the show
That was the biggest issue
It was so noticeable that everyone was commenting about it…
A horrible night and 300.00 wasted
Oh- the discount they offer you non stop on the website when you book and sign up-
50 off 100? Not valid there
So 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️

Today was my first time at city Winery New York.
But before I talk about City Winery- let me state for clarity- ITS LOCATED AT PIER 57!!
T.Murph- The Comedian was performing & I must admit- he's great!
He was very funny but very human. Not the comedian who picks on people - though that could be fun too- T.Murph has his personal style which focuses on real life- I enjoy that a lot. It helps lighten life a bit knowing I'm not alone in all these issues.
We ate at City Winery- at our table within the venue- and the food was very good for venue food.
The drinks were equally good. The service was good enough under the circumstances... A live show was being performed.
We parked underground. It was quick, smooth and very convenient.
City Winery is not full on- upscale, Nor is it any old location either. It sits somewhere in between.
Also, good to know- as soon as you walk in the main doors, there is a manned security booth.
Pier 57 looks busy, fun and with many places to explore. We only attended the show- and went on with our night elsewhere- due to our plans. However, I must admit- we wish to return and find out about their wines and all the other things to do there.
This venue is located on the water with beautiful sunsets to enjoy.
I definitely recommend City Winery New York.

I attended an event that took up the entire winery and it was excellent. The space is beautiful and provided opportunities for speakers, workspaces, and socializing. The staff were outstanding, attentive, and helpful.

I attended Katie Couric's "Reinventing Relationships" event (which did not live up to its title) but that's another story. Regarding City Winery, a venue I always have enjoyed, we had a few hiccups last night. First, when I asked about where the event was being held, the man in the lobby told me "the line begins there" and pointed to the far right, near the entrance to the small bar. I waited and waited for my friend (15 minutes) while patrons were busy entering the main room (on the left). So I was told to go wait somewhere completely wrong. HUH?
Turns out my friend had already been seated--at the wrong table. She came out to get me, we straightened out the table mixup (no idea why the door person thought our table 70 on the ticket = table 73). Two strikes.
Here comes the third. The server told us to scan the table tent QR code for the menu. I got stuck in a beverage menu with no option to get to the food, while my friend got the food menu. I asked about this at the door and was told there are 2 distinct QR codes, on one each side, one for beverages and one for food. This was not indicated anywhere on the table tent (other than instructions that drinks would be delivered to the table after the show started, if ordered through the app/screen, etc.)
As a marketing person, I declared this a marketing failure. How would I know have known this? Please consider adding a line of copy on each side of the table tents indicating "this is for drinks" and "this is for food." The other times I have been there, I ordered from a printed menu.
I have attended events at City Winery plenty of times; this is the first time I encountered problems like this. I am still trying to figure out why the person in the lobby would tell me to stand on the opposite side of the lobby when I asked about where to enter for the Couric event. HMMM...

10/10 recommend. We are visiting NYC for the first time and had the most amazing time, best service from Jay, and a great view! Ask for him if you come! I got a few glasses of the Lake County Sauv Blanc & my husband tried the Mendocino Syrah & tried the Captain Lawrence Lager NY. Can’t say better things about this place!
