Went out to see "Dog day afternoon". The play was great, I really enjoyed it - the actors were amazing!
The theater is nice and clean (including bathrooms), but could use a bit of a freshening up.
They sell soft and alcoholic drinks, which is great. Seats are a bit to narrow, so yiu are kind of packed like sardines next to each other.

Great place to see a play. The set for dig day afternoon was so damn creative. The ushers were personable and let my 90 years step dad use the exit to enter. The management allowing ushers to manage at contact is brilliant.

You have to go up 2 sets of stairs to get down to the orchestra section, so if stairs are a thing for you, this isn't optimal. That was my only reason for taking it down a star. To use the bathrooms, you need to go up another flight. But they are the cleanest and most stalls of any theater bathroom I've been in

We went to see Dog Day Afternoon. It was our first time at this theater. It was a great experience! There are plenty of restrooms, on the same floor as the main, they have Coke Zero (almost all other theaters have Diet Pepsi, which we do not like), and you can get popcorn and eat it inside. In addition to the theater's rich history, these are important to us. Also, there was a brief moment of monsoon-type rain shower, and a lot of people came to the theater soaking wet. While everyone was seated, before the play started, the staff came with boxes of napkins and paper towels, handing them out to the wet audience members. Well done to the manager(s) who thought of that. Thumbs up. The seats, similar to most theaters on Broadway, are too close to each other and very tight. But we'll gladly see another show in future seasons here.

So if you know me, you know I am a super-senior master journeyman in IATSE... I know my theaters... and I have not been to the August Wilson before...
I was humbled... as much as I was enjoying Jon Bernthal working it up on stage... and let me tell you i was lost in his masterful work of agitating a much too rich crowd for the material he was slinging... but whatevs on the crowd,... the work was gamechanging... as much as I was lost in that mans deconstructing of a society that easily equals Pacino...
I was also entranced by the theater... I am shamed to say i did not know the history and the contribution August Wilson has made to explore the inequities of the African American and how he has leveraged the play and broadway for social change...
And within all of this, the crew...
The venue...
all of it...
made for an old world feel, then theaters felt alive, like a breathing living entity that you were existing in in the most liminal state...
all the while fielding a giant rotator set that I know the mechanics of were worthy of a Wagnerian Opera...
This was epic...
I will see more shows here...
Just to be in that magical amazing theatre.
Loved it.
