  Nice place inside, maybe 12 tables total and 3 of them are VIP. The hookah was good and reasonably priced. Alcohol seems to be overpriced and underpoured. We ordered a glass of white wine and it was served in a champagne glass and cost $20. So i would not recommend buying drinks here but still a nice place to hangout and watch something on the big screen.

  Complete joke of a place. We went there 3 hours early to watch the World Cup game between Egypt and Iran. They have some very complicated policy involving a minimum spend that they didn’t explain well (even though the place was empty). Eventually we sat down and service was incredibly slow. We said from the start we had six people joining and they said we could share one hookah between us. Then 10 minutes later they came and said we had to order another one because six was too many… we asked if we could just order food and drinks and they gave us trouble for it. Eventually the place got busy, service was horrendous. They were very rude and snappy with us, telling us to order another hookah since a couple more people joined our party. We ended up ordering it and it took about 45 minutes to arrive… I understand they are busy which is fine but what’s not ok is that they kept snapping at us rudely to order another one even though it was on them that it wasn’t ready. I went outside once to say hi to a friend who was in the area for the game and got yelled at because apparently you aren’t allowed to leave and come in. At one point they even locked the door (which beyond being kind of scary/uncomfortable is a major safety/fire hazard). Overall a terrible experience, completely unprepared for what they should have known would be a very busy night. Also super over priced. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

  6/26- I had a reservation that I was on time for and they didn’t let my party in or even acknowledge us at the door. Very disappointed and almost ruined my birthday.

  It’s actually hilarious how awful the service is. The guy came to our table twice saying we needed to order new Shishas even though we already did, there’s no AC, there’s no music, and they keep locking the door so you can’t step outside to smoke a cig. I’m actually having a great time seeing all of this, it’s really impressive.

  Absolutely loved my experience at Sands of Persia in New York! If you’re looking for a unique restaurant with amazing food, cocktails, ambiance and a perfect spot for a fun dinner with friends or date night, this place is definitely worth visiting. The atmosphere is beautiful, stylish and full of energy while still feeling cozy and welcoming. The staff was also incredibly friendly, attentive and made the whole experience even better. We started with the Ferrero Rocher Martini and wow… such a delicious dessert-style cocktail, perfectly creamy, rich and balanced without being too sweet. We also ordered the chips and guac which were super fresh and flavorful, and the dumplings were honestly one of my favorite appetizers of the night, perfectly cooked with amazing flavor in every bite. For the main experience we tried the Ultimate Sample Platter and this is definitely a MUST order if you’re visiting for the first time. It gives you the perfect variety to try different flavors and everything was cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful and beautifully presented. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing. Overall, Sands of Persia is one of those spots in New York that truly gives a full dining experience from the ambiance and drinks to the quality of the food and service. Highly recommend for anyone searching for the best Persian-inspired restaurant, cocktails and shareable platters in NYC. Can’t wait to come back!
