- BRBrett ReynoldsJul 28, 20262.0Site appears to have been abandoned; the visitor center is heavily damaged and roped off. The palisade was locked, but part of the wall had collapsed. Nothing to indicate the site is still active other than the open gate from the road.

- JFJon FosterJul 11, 20261.0Well it is definitely closed. We stopped by since we were heading home that way. It's sad to see this historic site basically abandoned and rundown. Hopefully it will be restored to its former self and reopened at some point.
- SRScott RoeJun 22, 20261.0The place is closed and in a complete shambles, but yet it’s advertised as being open, and a vibrant, interesting destination. There is no indication of it being closed on any of the website. They classify it as being open because you can walk down the trail and read the signs. Waste of a 150 mile drive. Just make some kind of post on the official website as to what’s happened. There is no more funding, no staff, and everything is locked up and not maintained.
