On our way to my cousin’s niece’s wedding in the summer of 2005, my cousin and I took a memorable little excursion to the Charles Lindbergh House and Museum in Little Falls, Minnesota. The historic home was the boyhood residence of Charles A. Lindbergh, the famous aviator who made the first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Paris in 1927. The house, built in 1906, has been preserved as a historic site and museum, where visitors can learn about Lindbergh’s childhood, family life, and remarkable achievements. We had a wonderful time. It was one of several trips we took over the years, and those adventures remain some of my happiest memories with her.

The museum and home are closed until may 2027. The home is clearly in need of some repairs. Unfortunately there’s no sign of such work underway. Not a good look for one of Minnesota’s prominent citizens.

Took a nice walk between the museum and the house with my Dog and it was really nice. Upkeep was good and the trail boards explaining some of the history was also nice. Pretty cool to visit such a place. Seen the museum part won't be open again till next year 2027 though. Must be doing work on it.

I drove all the way here because Google Maps told me it would open at 9 AM. Only defined that the entire place is closed until May 21 of 2027. I will say that the park across the street is beautiful, the trails are very well kept and the signage around with the historical moments is still very nice. Just not what I had drove out here for. 🥺🚙 A museum caretaker that cannot update their Google Maps profile is really sad and might wanna look for a new job. I know that sounds harsh but when somebody drives as far as I did to come see a museum, it just makes sense to say it directly.
