We had a good experience with her gymnastics program overall… Even though they moved to competition really quickly. Their competitive coach Carly is great. However, I’m done sending my kids to camptastic. We’ve spent thousands of dollars at Jam Hops, like many families, but they can’t accommodate putting friends in summer programming together. Their rationale is that the groups are full so they can’t make any moves or accommodations. I reminded them that if they took request on the front ends, then they could more intentionally group children to be with their friends to honor the request. I understand that if there are behavioral issues or concerns with certain children placed together, that could be an issue; it would take a courageous conversation with pretty easy rationale for why certain students couldn’t be put together. Instead, they take a blanket approach and don’t allow any request. So the last week before school starts, I have to deal with my seven-year-old crying because the main reason she went to camp is to be with her friend. I’m unaware of any behavior issue and she’s had zero behavior issues at school, so I think accommodating a friend request the last week of school should be a pretty easy thing. I told her this is the last summer we will do Camptastic.

Where do I even start. Adhem and Hannah are some of the best and fun coaches. Despite being a ninja coach, Adhem was giving very helpful feedback on many gymnastics skills. Hannah did a wonderful job keeping kids out of the way of tumblers. She also was kind enough to give some corrections that were very helpful! Their work ethic together was phenomenal. What amazing staff at open gym today!
