  I started playing guitar and taking lessons with Gordon 4 years ago in 2022. I played piano as a child but was otherwise starting from scratch. Gordon teaches you a very wide variety of exercises that help you improve your technique and dexterity. He uses several different guitar books that contain songs and exercises. Also, if you have some favorite songs that you want to learn how to play, he will find appropriate versions for you (often from Ultimate Guitar). I take lessons in person because I believe there is no substitute for being in person - it is easier for Gordon to look at your technique and identify issues to work on. But he does teach some students on Zoom. I still have a lot to learn from Gordon and have not ever considered finding a different guitar teacher.

  Working with Gordon as a beginner guitarist has been a great experpience. Lessons are always a good mix of technique, theory, and songs. He really knows his stuff, but is encouraging to newbies like me.

  Gordon is a great guy and a great teacher. He's a real pro, with many years of experience, deep knowledge of the instrument and incredible patience. Highly recommended!

  I was taught by Gordon for several years. He's a very kind, caring, and knowledgeable musician and teacher. He helped me to prepare for college auditions and to get accepted into Berklee college of music.

  Gordon is an excellent guitar teacher and made learning feel approachable from day one! I came in with basically no experience, and he walked me through the fundamentals in a way that actually stuck. He’s very thorough in how he explains things, but never overwhelming. just clear, patient, and intentional. He took the time to understand what I wanted to get out of playing and introduced songs that kept me motivated while still building my skills. If you’re starting from scratch or looking to improve, I’d definitely recommend Gordon. He knows how to teach and genuinely cares about helping you get better.
