Dance classes for all ages and abilities in Skokie, Evanston and north Chicago. Our dance studio specializes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, lyrical and contemporary styles of dance as well as beginning classes for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Be aware if you have more than one child enrolled, or if your child is in multiple dance classes. At the end-of-year recital, you may receive an email stating they are unable to schedule all performances together. This means you will have to purchase tickets for multiple shows.
If you have two or more children, you’ll need to buy separate tickets for each show they are in. If family members want to attend, they must also pay for each individual performance. Even siblings who are dancers are required to pay to watch each other’s shows. No accommodations are made.
While I understand that coordinating performances can be logistically challenging, there should be some consideration for families. At the very least, dancers should not be charged to watch the recital, or there should be a single ticket option per family if multiple shows are required.
Instead, the only compensation offered is an $8 credit toward future tuition or a mailed check, which does not come close to offsetting the cost or inconvenience.
This policy is not clearly disclosed upfront. When I asked about ticket prices, I was told they would be around $22, but online prices start at $31 for the cheapest seats. It was only through another frustrated parent that I learned tickets are about $5 cheaper if purchased in person at the box office. This is something the studio should communicate clearly.
Had I known this was a possibility, I would have opted out of the recital altogether. However, costume fees are automatically withdrawn and are non-refundable, and by the time all of this is revealed, it’s too late—especially since the kids are already excited to participate.
This feels like poor business practice, and I was not the only parent affected. Many families were upset. Some are on limited budgets and want extended family to attend without the burden of paying for multiple shows.
Overall, this situation is unfair and lacks transparency.

My daughter has been a student at Keleidoscope for 3 years. It has been a wonderful experience. She LOVES dancing. The facilities are great. They have one way glass windows and television monitors so parents can enjoy watching their children during the entire class without distracting them. The teachers have been excellent, friendly and patient. Annual performance is superb and always brings a tear to my eye. I love this place.
