Wave pool was down due to technical difficulties. Lifeguards were focused more on opposite sex than keeping people safe. Lazy river was filled with empty rafts as lifeguards refused to do anything. Boys were hitting a ball in a crowd of people. Very disappointed. This is part of Westgate Lakes.

So disappointed on how the handle children with special needs. My son was trying to be more independent as this is a small venue. I gave him the luxury of walking around on his own while still keeping my eye on him. Within 1 hour of being there my son was escorted to me by a life guard and security guard telling me that they noticed him trying to talk to others and they felt uncomfortable with him doing that he didn’t do anything wrong but it was odd. They made my son feel like a criminal or a bad person for wanting to interact with others. They asked we talk to him about the situation. My son was so embarrassed that he started crying and wanted to leave and saying he didn’t do anything wrong that he just wanted to make friends. As an owner of a timeshare of the west gate resort I am beyond disappointed in the way they handle things at the water park and for that reason will never return. We were park of 14 people and myself and my entire family will never return to the water park because of the disrespect we as a family endured.

Not happy with this experience and visitors should be aware before booking. We were never informed that access to the on-site water park would cost an additional $100 for a family of four. That should be made much clearer when booking a stay. After purchasing tickets, the employee asked if we wanted a receipt. We declined, not expecting we’d need it for a refund later. Shortly after entering, we discovered there were not enough floats available for the lazy river, and guests are not allowed to use their own inflatables. We then asked about lockers to safely store valuables while swimming and were told all lockers were broken. Not long after, a light drizzle and dark clouds came through, and everyone was forced to leave the water park. We were then told refunds or rain checks were only available with a receipt. Since we were never advised to keep one for refund purposes, we were left without options. Management’s solution was a $25 voucher for the following day, despite the fact that we were checking out the next morning and couldn’t use it. Overall, this felt like poor communication and poor customer service. Between the unexpected extra costs, broken amenities, limited equipment, and refund issues, this was a frustrating experience and not worth the money. We come to Orlando often and never have issues with places like the Marriott being clear up front and advising on policies. Not staying here. This was my wife and son’s bday celebration.
