What a great, unique and immersive experience. I went at the end of August and it wasn’t that busy so we were able to get on all the rides multiple times with hardly a wait. I personally could spend all day in this area and I would go back 100% percent. The staff make the experience and immersion so great. Some really cool merchandise and food options. If I had a bigger suitcase with me I would’ve spent all my money here.

This may end up sounding like a strange complaint, but if you’re the type of person who values immersive experiences, I think you’ll understand exactly what I’m talking about.
I’m a lifelong Star Wars fan, and I wanted to love Galaxy’s Edge.
Visually, it’s spectacular. Disney absolutely nailed the architecture, the ships, the marketplace, and the sound design. Walking into Batuu for the first time is genuinely impressive.
But for me, the experience never fully comes to life.
My biggest criticism is that Galaxy’s Edge confuses theming with immersion.
Those are two very different things.
Theming is building incredible sets and filling them with amazing details.
Immersion is making guests believe they’re actually part of that world.
And sometimes, the difference comes down to the smallest interactions.
I asked a cast member for directions to the Millennium Falcon, and they politely gave them to me.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with that interaction.
But imagine if they had added something as simple as, “Careful. We don’t want the Empire finding out where it’s parked.”
That one line changes everything.
I know this may sound like nitpicking, but it’s exactly those little moments that separate a beautifully designed theme park from a truly immersive experience.
If the cast member is simply another employee helping me find my way, that’s perfectly fine.
But if that cast member exists within the Star Wars world Disney is asking me to invest in, then you’ve got me.
And that’s where I think Disneyland does a better job.
I’ve had completely different experiences on Rise of the Resistance in California. The interactions felt more natural, the performers seemed more committed to the story, and the entire experience felt more alive.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I kept waiting for those moments.
More characters.
More droids.
More interactions.
More opportunities to forget that I was standing inside a theme park in Florida.
The frustrating part is that all the pieces are already there.
Rise of the Resistance is one of the greatest attractions Disney has ever built. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is a lot of fun. The marketplace is beautiful.
The potential is enormous.
I just don’t think Disney fully commits to it.
I still recommend visiting because there are moments of absolute brilliance.
I just left feeling as though I had visited an incredible movie set instead of living inside the Star Wars universe.
And for a lifelong Star Wars fan, that’s a difficult feeling to shake.

Amazing visit, it really immerses you into the world of Star Wars. The attention to detail is on another level, and so many hidden spots to get lost in

The detail is incredible down to air conditioning lines into the millennium falcon. It's just awe-inspiring to stand in and look around
