Truly a magical place. My favorite experiences were in line with what is most popular, the Avatar Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safari and Festival of the Lion King. The Expedition Everest roller coaster was fun, but I thought the other experiences were truly unique. The 4-D zootopia was just okay.
I will say that at least to me, it makes more sense to budget for the fast pass along with your ticket. We did not have the fast pass for the safari and waited for about an hour. According to the app, the wait times for the avatar simulator and Everest roller coaster were even longer. We decided to get the fast passes and waited for no longer than 20 minutes at each experience. It seems like the extra $36 each saved us perhaps 3 hours of waiting in line, which was worth it, considering the ticket itself was $180. About 20% more money to save much, much more than 20% in time and also a better experience as well.

My daughter and I had a great time at Animal Kingdom. We did end up choosing to purchase premier lightning lane passes. Google said the crowds were not heavy on the day we attended at the end of April, but most lines were 30 to 60 minutes and the lightning lane passes allowed us to ride every ride with no more than a 10 minute wait. Since our time at the park was limited, this was really key to letting us enjoy all the experiences and still have time to try a few of the different food carts and to use our memory maker photo opportunities as well. There were short lines for the photos, but having a professional photo was also worth the wait and the money. Disney adds a little magic in several of the photos and also give you photos of the park that you would not have otherwise.
We enjoyed the Safari and the amazing detail in the tree of life. we loved the Everest ride and rode it again using the single rider option. The avatar ride was also fun.
Plan for a lot of walking. From the parking lot and through the park and through every line, lots of walking and standing.
If you have any mobility issues, consider renting a scooter.
I visited Magic Kingdom about a month ago last year, and I really enjoyed the experience. Even though it was a very busy day, everything was well organized and the atmosphere was amazing.
The park is beautifully maintained, and the rides, shows, and overall environment make it a magical place for all ages. The staff were friendly and helpful despite the crowds, which made a big difference.
Yes, it can get crowded, but the energy, entertainment, and experience are totally worth it. I would definitely recommend visiting and I look forward to coming back again!

If you’re planning a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom, a little prep work will go a long way—trust me!
Our last visit in 2018 left us completely overwhelmed by long ride wait times. This time, I did my homework ahead of our trip, and it made a huge difference. I pre-purchased both Single and Lightning Lane passes through the My Disney Experience. While it does feel like an added expense (and yes, a way for Disney to increase revenue), it can save you hours of standing in line.
One thing to know—unlike EPCOT, which offers a more inclusive Premier option, the other parks (including Animal Kingdom) require you to purchase access to certain top rides individually. The standard Lightning Lane tends to cover less in-demand attractions, so if you have must-do rides, plan accordingly.
7 days before your visit, Disney Hotel Guests can begin booking up to 3 ride choices for the day via the app. Non Guests can book 3 days. Essentially pre-planning your day for you. Once you have completed a ride, you can go into the app and book another ride However, Lightning Lane access is generally once per ride per day. If you want to ride again, it’s back to the regular wait time line.
Some attractions offer single rider lines, which don’t require an extra purchase.
Our favorite experience by far was the Kilimanjaro Safaris. We waited about 45 minutes, mainly because the herd of rhinoceros' decided to take their time crossing the road… and at Animal Kingdom, have the animals come first! No rushing a rhino. Honestly, that’s part of the magic—seeing these incredible animals up close and not behind bars is unforgettable.
Honestly, Animal Kingdom Park's layout doesn't flow as easily as Disney World or Epcot. We spent a lot of time going back and forth and getting lost :(
