  We celebrated my 60th birthday on the murder mystery dinner train this past Saturday, and it was such a fun night! Check-in was quick and painless, and everything ran smoothly from there. The actors were fantastic — they stayed in character the whole time and really pulled everyone into it. The storyline kept us guessing and laughing, and the food was delicious from start to finish. > > My only complaint, and it's a real one: the train tracks are in terrible shape. The ride was bumpy and jostling the entire trip, which took away from an otherwise wonderful evening. For what these tickets cost, you'd think they'd invest a little more in keeping the tracks maintained. > > Fair warning — if you're prone to motion sickness at all, take some Dramamine before you go, or you may want to pick a different night out. Other than the rough ride, we had a blast and I'd recommend the show itself to anyone.

  The food is ok but could have more flavor. But the experience is great the service is also great. I definitely will be going back.

  Although it seems some people had a good time, our experience was terrible. First it was pouring down rain and there is no covered access. It was a long walk to our car. There people were walking up stairs and being unfamiliar as to where to go moving slowly. My wife has walking issues and there is little handicap access accessibility. (Is that even legal?) So we got soaking wet. On board the chairs were very uncomfortable and the train rocked back an forth pretty violently. If you are subject to sea sickness, this isn't for you. For me the motion and the hard chair made my back hurt a lot and for a day or two later. The service was very slow and we waited almost an hour for our first drink and were only able to get one more near the end. The food however, was excellent. If it was served at a nice sit down restaurant that didn't rock back and forth it would have been good. However, it was over two hours after the trip started and between the rocking, hard chairs, and lateness, we didn't eat it. The show was mediocre. I guessed who the murderer was in the first "act" (It was obvious). It made the rest of the show boring. No point in filling out the clue sheet, I stopped paying attention. Looking out the window didn't help much because trains travel through the back yards. Couldn't wait to get off the train.

  I wanted to do something a little different for my birthday shenanigans, and what better way than the Murder Mystery Dinner Train? Let me tell you—it lived up to the hype and then some! When you arrive, you check in through the gift shop, find out which train car you're assigned to, board, and locate your table. Each table seats four, and yes, it can be a little tight. It's an older train, so that's to be expected, but it was still comfortable enough. This was a solo adventure for me, so I was seated with a married couple I had never met. They turned out to be some pretty cool people! We had a lot in common, talked throughout the evening, and really enjoyed each other's company. That's one of the things I loved about the experience—you can absolutely do this alone and still have a great time. Now, the cast? AMAZING! One minute the entire train car is full of conversation, and the moment the actors walk in to perform a scene, everybody gets quiet and starts paying attention. You better listen closely too, because they're dropping clues and talking fast while you're trying to figure out what in the world you need to write down. 😂 The costumes, acting, characters, and overall production were very well done. Our server was great and clearly knew exactly what she was doing. There aren't a ton of servers working each car, but they have a system—and it works! The courses were paced really well throughout the mystery, so you never felt like food was constantly being thrown at you. And speaking of FOOD... let's talk about it! 🙌🏾 The fruit and cheese platter waiting on the table when we arrived was SO good. And whatever that cheese was? Sweet baby Jesus! 😂 I could've eaten that by itself. The potato leek soup surprised me because I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it, but it was actually really good. The pretzel-style bread was another nice addition. The salad was probably my least favorite part—the croutons just didn't work for me—but everything else made up for it. I ordered the salmon, and baby, that salmon was cooked to PERFECTION! One of my tablemates had the chicken and said hers was delicious and seasoned perfectly. Her husband ordered the beef, and when I tell you they brought that man a serious piece of beef! 😂 The portions were generous enough that several of us had leftovers to take home. I also loved how they acknowledged birthdays and other special occasions toward the end of the evening. They recognized us, sang Happy Birthday, and served our desserts first. It was a really nice touch and made my birthday adventure feel a little more special. As for the train ride itself, yes, the train rocks. I heard some people mention it, but you're on an older train moving at a slower pace, so you're going to feel the movement. For me, it wasn't bad at all and certainly didn't take away from the experience. My only real critique is that the ending felt a little rushed. The cast comes in for the final scene, you're trying to catch those last clues, and then it's quickly time to write down your final answer before they collect the sheets and reveal the killer. I tried to be slick and NOT choose the obvious suspect... only to discover that the obvious suspect WAS the killer. 😂😂 So much for my detective skills! Overall, I had an absolute blast. Whether you're going with your girlfriends, your significant other, family, or even SOLO like I did, this is such a fun and different experience. Some people dressed according to the theme, some dressed up for the evening, and others came completely casual. It truly doesn't matter—come however you're comfortable and enjoy yourself. Great food, great entertainment, lots of laughs, and definitely something different from the usual dinner outing. I would absolutely recommend the Murder Mystery Dinner Train if you're in the Fort Myers area and looking for a unique experience. 🚂🔎🍽️ And apparently, I need to brush up on my detective skills before I go back. 😂

  We were really looking forward to this experience, but unfortunately it was disappointing overall, especially for the price.. The train ride itself was not scenic at all.Much of the route went through industrial areas and unattractive surroundings\. At one point we passed a wall with large profanity painted on it, and otherwise there was mostly overgrown grass and very little to look at\. The train also felt quite dated, and some of the decorations looked very inexpensive\. My chair was actually broken in the back, which made the experience even less comfortable. The food was another disappointment. We did not find most of it very enjoyable, the dessert was not good, and the lemonade cost extra and tasted extremely watered down\. The murder mystery portion was probably the only good part besides being sat next to a nice couple. I correctly identified the murderer and answered the bonus question, which was fun. I later learned that the overall winner is also determined by the number of clues listed, which I did not feel was made particularly clear during the experience. The performers were friendly, and I can appreciate the work that goes into putting on the mystery, but overall we simply did not feel the experience justified the cost\. I wanted to enjoy it, but unfortunately I would not do it again. Update: Thank you for responding. I actually did contact the company directly before posting this review and received a response regarding the mystery portion of the evening,. My review reflects our overall experience, including the food, condition of the train, broken seating, route and value for the price.
