This Aquarium is a tourist attraction/trap and not a place to educate on animals and their environments. This aquarium houses tigers which it does not have the space for. Do the tigers ever get to go outside? Or are they trapped inside all day and night? Every animal is in a tank too small for it. The entire building reeks, due to lack of proper ventilation. There are almost no signs explaining why they have certain animals, no signs describing the animals and their lifestyles and if they are endangered or not. How this aquarium is accredited with the AZA is beyond me. The AZA needs to do the right thing and pull their accredit with this “aquarium”. The animals aren’t properly taken care of and it’s depressing to see them like this. This location should be shut down and every animal transferred to a better location. I urge you not to fund this place with a visit and help get it shut down. I visited the Denver Zoo and they had better tanks for their fish than the Aquarium itself. They also seemed to have old-sick looking fish swimming around with healthier ones. This was just a sad sad trip.

We really enjoyed this aquarium! The well designed theming of this location carries it well. There aren't a lot of unique species here that you can't find at other aquariums, but the way they present the animals is outstanding. I particularly loved the goofy wolf eel at the end. In terms of size, you should budget around 1-2 hours for a savoring pace. The place isn't huge, but it's also not tiny. I absolutely recommend coming here, especially if you haven't had many aquarium experiences.

Awesome experience! 3rd time I've gotten to go since moving to CO and it never disappoints. Had family with my young nephews visit over the summer and they thought it was the most magical experience ever! We did have some issues with the vending machines for commemorative coins and such, and employees were no help other than providing a phone number, so that could be fixed...but otherwise everything from the restaurant, to the exhibits, to the staff more than willing to take group photos for us and educate everyone on the sealife was great. Highly recommend, especially if you have toddler through young teen aged children!

They have a tiger exhibit which is already odd for an aquarium. Their tigers seem to lack proper enrichment. They also ban service dogs by the tiger exhibit which violates ADA, and the reasoning is that it would activate the tigers prey drive. It could make sense if there were children sprinting back and forth, which would activate a prey drive way more than a service dog more. I hope they do better for their tigers. It was pretty sad to see how little care seemed to be in place for them.

YES A MUST SEE!! Due to wildfires super haze and no fires we did not camp we did a near-cation. Excellent choice starting with the 4D show that sets the mood right plus perfect a/c worth the cool down on the hot summer day. Exhibits were next level! Monster tanks for the brown sharks and tiger sharks to give plenty of superb 8K video of their swim and mannerisms. Large tortoises swimming past plus other large fish was so worth the trip! It was educational and a different vibe than land animals. Gift shop had super cool stuff to buy love my sharks shirt and the kids love they blushes. We will return, a great spot to take out state visitors.
