- MCMAX CNov 23, 20232.0I remember the old 97.5 Best Music Most Fun! Back in the 1990s Jamming with the Jammer! Valerie Heart on mid days, I remember the giant red rolling radio! Flash Phillips in the morning and the Lama in the afternoon, my goodness local radio in Central Texas! I’d always win cds 15th caller and my grandma would drive from lake Belton to take me to Waco just pick up my cds😅 what’s really crazy when I moved to Canyon Lake 2 hours from Belton somehow I could hear the station, I felt so connected to my hometown still, it carried me some tough times, it’s so unfortunate now this station is completely syndicated all the djs and programming come from some place else, because of the local DJs at 97.5 in Waco I feel in love with radio, now I’m a DJ at a local 97.5 on the west coast, I realize it’s so much cheaper running syndicated programming but it comes a great cost - losing local radio not being to able to connect with your local listeners, appreciate this station how it made such a big difference in my life back in 90s if your from 90s you might remember Best Music Most Fun! The best local radio people they changed my life forever!
