The African American security guard downstairs tried to pressure us for a tip and initially refused to let us go upstairs or enter the bar. And it was half-empty that evening We had a reservation at Jean-Georges restaurant, so there was absolutely no reason for this behavior, and of course he received no tip. Later he came upstairs and followed me as I was walking back alone from the restroom to our table. As he walked behind me, he kept whistling at my back and harassing me in a very inappropriate way. This kind of harassment is completely unacceptable and made the experience very uncomfortable. I don’t think that for a $1,000 dinner I should have to tip a racist at the door - someone who acts like a big boss and tries to ruin my evening. And the bar was fantastic!

Really beautiful, simple aesthetic, the view is the essence of the restaurant. Every dish at brunch was excellent; dessert bar was absurd-too much of you can't help yourself. Perfect for ppl who love sweets. Staff was awesome.

Dinner is a bit pricey. The salmon I had was good, but not amazing. Portion size was fairly small, I feel like it should have included a side. I generally love mushrooms but they didn't really seem to have much of an impact on the dish for me. I was still fairly hungry after an entire appetizer and the fish... Luckily the desert was pretty filling. I actually liked my girlfriend's rigatoni and meatballs more. Wine is unfortunately marked up a lot... With the expensive prices, maybe that's expected, but I could only justify one $20 glass of wine, especially knowing the bottles are $15 each retail (for the wine I picked anyway). The service was great! We got there a little early so we had to wait a couple minutes, no biggie. I didn't get a window seat like I was hoping and asked for in the reservation, but it was busy - can't always get the best seating. Valet service was mostly good. The pay place was kind of hidden with no signage in between the exit doors and many people including myself missed it. The guy outside seemed a little annoyed by people approaching him asking about pickup... They should probably put a sign up. It's a good option for a special occasion but I think the price is only justifiable for the experience as a whole. Will consider coming back some day.

this place was disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The food was mediocre and skimpy. I don’t understand how they serve you ONE spring roll for $21. The spring roll was probably 3 inches long, and the server took our sauce before we could even use it for our one bite of spring roll. They charge $8 for 8oz of soda, and didn’t think to mention that. $8 for a soda and you don’t get a free refill???! Is ridiculous. Entrees were okay, but wouldn’t come back for any of it. We spent $190 and got barely any food and spent $32 on 4 sodas. That is highway robbery.

This was one of the most confusing experiences I’ve had as a photographer in Philadelphia. I was hired to photograph a proposal at this restaurant. The person proposing called ahead of time to confirm that a photographer with a camera would be allowed and was told it was okay. When we arrived, however, we were suddenly told that professional cameras are not allowed anywhere in the restaurant or hotel unless a photo permit had been purchased in advance. The concierge explained that the restaurant has “many managers” and suggested the call had been handled by someone else, which only added to the confusion and offered no real resolution. There was no signage, no warning, and nothing on the official website stating that photography is prohibited or that a permit is required — at least nowhere that we could find. As a result, I was forced to take photos of the proposal on the couple’s phone instead of my own camera, completely defeating the purpose of hiring a professional photographer for such an important moment. We then had to leave and take photos outside the hotel, because we were told cameras were not allowed literally anywhere inside. This level of disorganization and lack of transparency is shocking, especially for Philadelphia, where I’ve never encountered anything like this. If there are strict photography rules or permits required, that information needs to be clearly stated on the website and communicated consistently to guests — especially when they specifically call ahead to ask. A proposal is a once-in-a-lifetime moment. This situation caused unnecessary stress and disappointment that could have been completely avoided with clear communication
