If you are going to see HP be aware of some things beforehand. Not a usual theatre going crowd so expect talking, use of phones, going to toilets mid scenes etc through the entire show, its draws in younger audiences so is understandable. I work in thestre TV, events etc as a tech.. For the price of the seats, the sound quality on the dress circle was absolutely appauling. All the recorded audio clips were missing all high and low ends and were only slightly helped by bruit force of the subs. The theatre offers snacks and merch throught the show. That they offer loud noise making products is crazy. Watching 2 actors on stage working their hearts out in an emotional scene and hearing popcorn being chewed and some plastic tub clip or lid being played with is crazy. I get it, fsmily show, sell things but chose quiet items during the performance.

My visit to the Lyric Theatre to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped inside, it felt as though I had crossed the threshold into the wizarding world itself. The theater’s transformation for this production is breathtaking—every corner holds a surprise, every detail feels enchanted, and the entire space radiates the kind of magic that makes you forget you’re in the middle of New York City.
The show itself left me absolutely awestruck. I’m still replaying moments in my mind, wondering how the cast and crew managed to pull off such astonishing theatrical magic. I felt every emotion possible—excitement, suspense, joy, even a few chills. There were several moments where I found myself literally on the edge of my seat. The spells, the illusions, the time‑bending scenes… it was all so impressively executed that I kept thinking, How is this even happening on a stage?
I was incredibly lucky to attend a performance featuring Tom Felton, which made the experience even more unforgettable. Seeing him live in this story added a special spark that I’ll never forget.
The Lyric Theatre itself deserves its own praise. It’s beautiful, immersive, and perfectly designed to elevate the show’s magic. The staff were warm, fun, and genuinely helpful—from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. I especially appreciated the convenience of ordering food online and picking it up at the coat check. It made everything smooth, quick, and stress‑free.
This was a truly unique and enchanting experience, one that exceeded every expectation. I would absolutely see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child again, and I highly recommend the Lyric Theatre to anyone looking for a night filled with wonder, emotion, and pure theatrical brilliance.

Visited the Lyric Theatre for a show. This is a classic Broadway venue with a spacious, well-maintained interior.
The seating is fairly comfortable though a bit tight, and sightlines are good from the floor. The theater has a nice mix of historic charm and modern updates, making it a pleasant place to see a show. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location in the heart of the Theater District is very convenient.
Ideal for any Broadway performance, whether it’s a big musical or a smaller production.

We went there to see the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Getting to the Theater was pretty easy, coming from central Penna. We parked at Icon Parking 1515 Broadway, which we've parked at before and never had a problem there and is only a block away.
Getting into the Theater was easy enough. Security and employees were all professional and friendly. They had three lines at the entrance that went pretty smooth, though the guy at our line took the job a bit more serious than the other two lines.
We opted for the VIP which I thought was worth it. The lobby is a bit small (IMO) for the number of people the Theater holds and is very crowded ... so the VIP Lounge gets you out of the chaos a bit. More elbow room, faster access to the restroom and a nicely stocked bar. They provide a small snack box that was okay, we weren't overly impressed by that and ate very little of it.
Getting from the VIP area to our seats was very easy! The Theater itself is in really great shape, clean and well maintained. Seats are nice, plenty of shoulder room, but the seat padding isn't the best. They were handing out pillows for a "kid's booster" and we joked we should've taken one. Still decently comfortable, but it was noticeable.
We would definitely go back for another show

The theater is amazing. Plainly stated, I am truly impressed by the architecture and construction of the theater which makes a visit feel fancy yet not underdressed in jeans and a shirt. It's managed to find the perfect balance between modern and yet has an old world charm. From the wallpaper in the lobby, the spiral staircase upstairs, and the well kept bathrooms its truly been a fun experience every time we have come for a show.
At the moment this is the home of the popular Harry Potter and the cursed child show on broadway and is excellently located. Easily reached from neighboring hotels and right on times square.
My only recommendation would be that they improve the interface for the in seat dining. When you scan the QR code and order food/drinks the full menu of available items isn't available (or if it is then the UI isn't well designed to make that apparent). Items like custom cocktails and bottled water are missing and those are important items!
In general I would highly recommend the show and the theater to anyone interested in a great time in NYC!
