I had the same service dog experience today that others have documented. I was standing in the shade for a moment and a security officer who had been standing against the arcade building told me I had to leave, that he had seen my dog eat something off the ground(she sniffed something), and he insisted service dogs don’t do that. I told him that she was a service dog, she’s allowed to sniff if I’m standing still, some people have invisible disabilities, etc. He raised his voice at me, accused me of buying the vest off the internet, that my dog was emotional support, that a real service dog doesn’t even have to be on a leash, that this was private property (which was irrelevant because public access) and he could do whatever he wanted. Really arrogant bully. I brought my dog back to the air bnb and returned to the pier area. I spoke with a manager named Ken-my best recollection of his name. He was very familiar with the previous incidents, was very knowledgeable about the ADA and immediately set off to find the officer. I hope he set him straight.

Love going every year. Can be pricey but if you prepare ahead of time it helps with overall cost.
