We stayed at the hotel because of the rooftop. Visited high rail and few times and it was great. Food, drinks and vibe were amazing. The outdoor firepit was a terrific place to hang out.

I usually don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience at Highrail Rooftop because it was that bad. The evening started off awkwardly when the hostess told us there were no tables available, yet while we were sitting at the bar, she suddenly informed us that a table had opened up—but only if we agreed to a time limit. Weird, right? Things only got worse from there. We ordered drinks, paid with cash, and were told they needed a card on file even though we weren’t opening a tab and were paying in full. Why in the world would I need a card on file if I’m paying cash? The hostess said the card wouldn't be charged, just a hold would be placed until they received the cash. We went ahead and tipped generously and left. To my surprise, I noticed a charge on my card after the fact, despite paying in cash. I went back to get it sorted, and that’s when I encountered an incredibly rude staff member who tried to educate me on the difference between an authorization and a pending charge—like I didn’t know. She was condescending and dismissive, making it clear she couldn’t care less. I was told the hold would clear within 24 hours, but here we are, FOUR days later, and it’s still not resolved. I called the manager, "Kiersan" (or Pierson—couldn't quite catch it), who agreed the charge should’ve been lifted by now. But instead of offering a solution or an apology, he basically shrugged it off, saying I needed to call my bank and dispute it because he can't help me. He also mentioned they do this as a clearance in case we didn't pay. Why would we not pay if we said we had cash to pay from the beginning and did not request to open a tab? He didn’t offer any compensation for the inconvenience or even the tiniest ounce of customer care. After entertaining multiple guests from out of town here in the past, I am honestly disappointed. This was a frustrating and incredibly unprofessional experience, and I will never return. A complete waste of time and money—there’s so much better in Raleigh. What a bizarre, classless place.

Very beautiful and the food was delicious! I went on a double date in the afternoon and the view was amazing. The music was nice too.

My husband and I had a really bad experience here. From the moment we sat down, nothing went right, the service was slow, and the food quality was far below expectations. Everything we tried felt poorly prepared and completely off. We left feeling disappointed and even unwell afterward. It’s unfortunate because we were genuinely excited to try something new, but this was one of those nights you just want to forget. Definitely not an experience I’d recommend.

Came to High Rail one night with my boyfriend who was visiting Raleigh for the first time. First off the staff was extremely rude off the bat for no reason - along with saying kitchen is closed but the bar did not close for another 2 hours? Then there was a consistent condescending tone from bartenders towards my boyfriend - all because he asked for a recommendation (he rarely drinks and always asks for recommendations!). It was very uncomfortable - also giving us bad looks and laughing at us -so we ended up just leaving after one drink. It made me so sad!! I have never experienced that kind of condescending service before, and it made us both really upset. Unfortunate experience because I was so excited to try this place as I keep seeing it on social media! (I can provide more details if needed)
